Throw in 52 mil spent on EJax,that is 220 million shot in the ass.

IF this was the scenario, should ownership launch Theo?

Come on Jimmy. I know it's an off day for the team, but you're better than this. Let's name our all time favorite Cub lineup instead.

I started watching in 84....

C - Rick Wilkins
1B - Derrek Lee
2B - Ryno
SS - Shawon Dunston
3B - Ron Cey
LF - Moises Alou
CF - Jerome Walton
RF - I love Dawson but I gotta go with Sosa
RHSP - Rick Sutcliffe
LHSP - Ted Lilly
Closer - Mitch Williams

Jimmy, not even I am ready to make this post.

However, while we are on the topic, plunking down approximately $50 million for those two catchers is looking questionable.

To answer your hypothetical, I think it would depend on the rest of the team. I mean if they're winning, then no you dont Launch Theo.

If Lester is so bad that he cant even stay in the rotation, that will be bad.

But Jimmy, dont ever say that you dont bitch or look for reasons to bitch. You have been sour on Theo since he got here. Not sure why, but it's a fact.

You also repeatedly wanted to get rid of Rizzo in favor of Bryan LaHair and then later Chris Valaika. Which tells me that you actually probably want to be right, more than you actually want the Cubs to win.

Its your thing to hate the Cubs management and predict failure. I cant even say I blame you, but that's who you are.

Also, Id like to add that since Theo got here Jimmy has wanted him to "sign a few FA veterans (Montero, Fowler) to go along with the kids and actually try and win"

They are doing exactly what he wanted this year and have started out nicely.

So he bitches about the one part that isnt going well.

Also, there was the part where he said that he didnt like getting rid of Valbuena for Fowler.

Basically, Jimmy hates Theo Epstein and Ricketts and he wants them to fail.

That is what being a Cub fan can do to you.

As much as it PAINS ME to agree with RPB, he is spot on.

I am not sure about OKC, but I am sure there is more crazy there than just the hair.

Seems to me that game was in Texas and she's probably a Rangers fan.

ANSWER THE QUESTION.

I'll answer it for Cub fans on here.
220 million pissed away on two flops? Fire Epstein!

This whole picking guys off of first thing is an issue, too.

It's like putting all your eggs in one basket. I did want the Cubs to sign FA but it would have been better to diversify.Jerry Reinsdorf is right about his refusal to sign SP to big long term contracts.

That being said,I am rooting for Lester, the 2 FA catcher's they signed and every other guy on the team. I did say in previous posts that I liked CF Fowler but losing Valbuena might hurt down the line.

Agree. I think for that kind of money you need to get an ace, I don't think Lester will be that for this team. At least not what I think of when I think of an ace / stopper type pitcher.

I love Jimmy, but you may be right Bryan.
I think he does want to be right more than he wants the Cubs to win.
The problem is that the Cubs have a better chance of winning than Jimmy ever has of being right.

No, you want to be right.

Unless you are not being truthful with your posts. Your posts here show that you clearly want Theo to fail more than you want the Cubs to win.

The Rizzo stuff is telling. Even after his huge year last year, you were talking up Valaika because Rizzo is a Theo guy.

Why do you hate Epstein so much? Do you think he thinks he's better than you? Anti Sabr? Anti Boston? Anti young guys?

I was as excited as any Cub fan when HE got here but it should be clear the only thing I had against him was the 3 years of crap thing. I did not like that at all. Since Ricketts took over,Cub fans have had 5 years of losing miserably. To do it on purpose for 3 years does not sit right with me and I bet it doesn't sit right with most Cub fans not on this board.

I dont remember you being excited when he got here. Pretty sure you were bitching from the start.

Oh look, here's a post from the day of his press conference

I hope he hires Don Zimmer for manager and PRINT IT!

I dont like losing on purpose either but that is what happened. Now they're trying to win.

The Rizzo Valaka thing is the proof. Rizzo had a monster year and you still wanted to fault him so you could fault Theo.
