To add more pressure to this loser, somebody in the bleachers should hold up one of these signs this year similar to Shaun-O-Meter.

I proclaim Baez the first farm system bust. This 3 year wait better start showing some payoff. I think Soler will be a huge star if he stays healthy.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ba ... story.html

Javy Baez fanned in all three at-bats on Sunday and is 0-for-8 with four strikeouts. Manager Joe Maddon blamed himself and his staff.

“He’s thinking too much,” he said. “He’s getting a lot of information from all of us, and I think at some point, sometimes it’s our fault. I just want to leave him along and let him play.”

If they let him play the full year ( which I doubt) .230 18HR 60 RBI 225 plus strikeouts.
Edit: single season K record is 223. Baez will go 250-275 if he plays full time.

Just let me know when he stops being a top prospect.

5 hits, 1 miss? With the miss being Hendry's? I'll take it!

Unless you have a time machine, top prospect has come and gone. He was a top prospect. He might bust. Same deal with Gordon Beckham. Stop acting like you dont know what it means.

And Jimmy, you've now crossed over into literally rooting against the Cubs best interest (obviously hoping Baez fails) to be correct.

You sure Alcantra is a hit?

Alcantara is not one of the 5 he's talking about.

He along with Alcantara lost their prospect eligibility last year. They both exceeded 130 at bats.

I think your definition of "top prospect" is different than RPB's.

Where do us dumb White Sox fans get the idea that many Cubs fans think that most of these prospects are already hits?

Not at all. Again, you're not even being real, man.

Kirkwood understands that Baez was a top prospect. All prospects dont come thru. After they use up rookie eligibility, people stop calling them prospects in general.

Chipper Jones was a top prospect. So was Scott Ruffcorn. No matter what happened later, they were both top prospects.

Im sorry the Cubs get so much coverage.

Agreed, it's just as dumb as people suggesting they'll all be busts because they happen to be on the Cubs.

Come on, man. If Baez was/is a top prospect that didn't magically end at 130 at-bats. My point is that nobody really agrees on what a "top prospect" even is.

No, they do agree. You have a problem with it. Its not everyone.

Players who analysts think have a good chance at success are top prospects. It's like you dont want to accept that the word prospect is different from player.

Alcantara is thrilled Baez is deflecting criticism of him

That's not true but you enjoy framing it that way.

Where do us dumb Cubs fans get the idea that many Sox fans think Javier Baez is already a miss? How many big league at-bats does he have?

Gordon Beckham was anointed a prince after as a similar amount of at-bats to begin his major league career. Remember Corey Patterson's 2003?

I believe both teams should have learned that you need to wait a little bit to judge players.

Sure it is.

of course it isn't. It just sets you up to be correct if a few turn out to be good and in a full on strut if 50% achieve.

Its truly amazing how much you and others worry about this.

If a few turn out, I will be right because that is what I always predicted (that's what happens with prospects on any team)

If one turns out decent, you'll be wrong because you and others have painted yourself in a corner by staking out the they'll all bust position.

Im sorry you painted yourself in that corner.
