LH Tsuyoshi Wada (0-0, 2.30) vs. RH Tanner Roark (1-2, 2.59).

Saturday: 11:05 p.m., CSN.

The Cubs are who were thought they were. They're too inconsistent in all areas of the game to be legit contenders. They'll hover above .500 all season and be in the Wild Card hunt but ultimately will come up short.

Yes, because nothing says class like showboating getting your ass kicked.

Consistency / improvement should come with experience to most of these guys. We're still in a good position on June 4th, and 2015 isn't a make or break year. A month ago, I thought that even as flawed as the team is, they could get a wild card. I think the goal is still attainable, just a bit harder.

But since 2015 is the year where the Cubs young players get to figure it out on the major league level, get Baez back.

they're playing baseball!!! not having a dinner party.

baseball needs characters. not plain vanilla robots.

I feel confident that the Cubs will play at least three, and possibly four, baseball games in this series.

No problem, and baseball needs enforcers when the shitheads act up.

enforcers?!?

you mean walk out the dugout, look fake-tough and do nothing?

there's nothing to enforce. sports are full of emotion. let 'em fly.

instead there's this insistence to bottle up any emotion like some stepford wife. golly, someone's feelings might get hurt!!!

Nope, I am talking about hitting your best player. You can really tell me that you like your guy Junior Lake bat flipping and then telling the Marlins to hush down 6 runs?

i had no issue with the batflip.

the ssshhhh-ing thing was wrong but lake said marlins were chirping him for the batflip so he shhh-ed them

no matter what you its a lose-lose b/c the baseball police are terrorists.

you can't batflip while losing b/c you're getting torched
you can't batflip while winning b/c you're showing up the opponent
you can't batflip when its close b/c game is not over

no matter what you can't batflip b/c sgt dugout douchebag says so.

big show-boater and the guy sucks. He hit the ball, flipped the bat, they show the ball land out in the stands, then watch pitcher reaction for a few more seconds, then go back to Lake by this time IS JUST GETTING TO FIRST BASE!!

What an ass.

I'll be in DC for Friday and Saturday's game. The weather looks iffy, especially for Saturday. But it's off to Vegas after Saturday's game!

I would say the down 6-0 batflip to a team that's double digit games below 500 in front of a crowd of roughly 15 people is the worst of those examples you laid out. What a tool.

Castro's ability to consistently hit a ground ball to the shortstop, at this point, is something to marvel at.

We scored two runs there and it feels like a disappointing inning. Man, we need an offensive jolt.

Castro with his usual DP grounder. He could be so much more but is not. Lots of ground ball outs for him this season. But I am sure he will be better soon. Maybe in another city in a different uniform.
