First playoff appearance since 2008 and they are very upset about:

1) the retention of Robin Ventura
2) the loss of Luis Valbuena
3) the firing of Mark Parent
4) the signing of Jon Lester
5) winning a playoff game when losing would be better for the future.

Doing good over here. Very excited for Wed evening.

Thank you for the clinical evaluation. New booth at US Cellular?

I'm just worried about you. Unlike IMU and most of the people at Darkside's party I'd feel very bad if you had a nervous breakdown after Wednesday night's loss.

His first post of the week has nothing to do with the Cubs or Packers, but its a troll job in the Sox section. I'll also not that this thread was started after Kirkwood posted his. Not to mention the other thread over there that is full of gifs. The myth that only Sox fans post about the Cubs is one that has been proven woefully wrong time and time again. This season especially.

I think you're missing the point on this one.

I'd feel bad for a handful of Cubs fans if they did lose on Wednesday.

spanky may or may not be one of them.

Luckily it won't matter.

Cubs got this.

No, I know all to well what the point is. That doesn't make the point any less sophomoric.

1) Nolan Ryan's punching bag...I couldn't be happier he stayed. The Sox are the WXRT of baseball...jobs for life.
2) For Dexter lol please.
3) Who?
4) Why?
5) Still going with this bit? Check the records on both sides of town since Theo came to town.
Losing on purpose and getting 97 with a bunch of rookies....yep we're soooooo depressed.
Oh sorry forgot to mention...winning 97 with a bunch of rookies.....in a division with the 3 best teams in MLB.

Home Depot is glad you're back Franky.

Not at all. We (yes we) have a great team now that's headed for a long run.
They're also extremely entertaining to watch.
Exact same vibe I had in 2008 / 2009 for the Blackhawks. I guess we were lucky enough to not have many Blues fans who are almost as miserable as White Sox fans.

Guys check out my band.
We'll be playing the Subway at the Niles Walmart tomorrow from 6:15pm to 6:40pm.

I do not think we are depressed. There is always some trepidation entering the playoffs. Go Cubs. Go Cats.

Dude, if the Cubs even make the NLCS someone might be cutting you down from the rafters and you are talking about some else and their mental state?

Wrong. I'll be enjoying October baseball in Chicago. Try again.

the last time i heard that was when the cubs were coming home from Miami with a 3-2 series lead and Prior lined up for game 6 and Wood for game 7 (which wouldn't be necessary anyway). the cubs never just "get" anything, they are going to have to play a great game tonight to win.

Bingo. Enjoyed the Yankees losing last night. Houston showed how it is done, solid pitching on the road.

Very excited.

Days like this really are fun. Same thing when the Bears are in the playoffs. The whole area has a different feel and more energy.
