After 3 years of throwing 486 games, the one sole acquisition which can be attributed to getting a higher draft pick is Kris Bryant. There was a chance Kyle Schwarber would have still been there in the lower first round if the Cubs finished better.

There never was any reason to not acquire some decent hitters and pitchers in the previous 3 years. I was not asking for top tier guys but at least put together a team that might get that 2nd WC. 4 seasons later they did it but the team was pieced together mostly with trades and FA pickups which would have been nice if they tried it 4 seasons ago, too!

Again, the sophomore slump is proven baseball fact. Chances are slim the Cubs get the same production out of Bryant, Schwarber and Russell next season. I know common sense would say otherwise, but for one reason or another most players take a step back in their second year.

Not all but most. Mayne the Cubs luck out and nobody regresses, but the history of the game disagrees with that outlook.

This is the first of several playoff appearances in the next 5 seasons. This won't be the last NLCS appearance. Hopefully it works out better next time.

This team is all about giving you a ton of chances to see your dream realized jimmy. It wasn't one and done.

2015 Cubs are 1989-1990 Bulls.

Without the losing you probably wouldnt have Arrieta (they traded a low cost pitcher who was having a good year), Bryant, Schwarber, and Russell

Don't throw facts at him, let him meatball. It is what he does. Nothing anyone says will change him.

What facts? They could have still made those trades IF the team they put together was not contending. That's what I'm saying. In 2014,they didn't even try to get anybody decent to fill out the roster. I have no problem trading pieces here and there but at least try to win these last 3 years and if it's not working out, then go and make some trades for the future.

If they were trying to win they would have kept Feldman and not gotten Arietta. Same with Samardzija-Russell

Everythiing is connected Jimmy.

That is so adorable....he tries so hard but then spits out....."see the Giants about making the playoffs" while trying to rip on someone for saying this is the first of SEVERAL playoff appearances in the next FIVE seasons.

Just go find another team to cheer for. The Cubs reign of sustained success and opportunities for postseason glory will begin in earnest in 2016. You don't deserve to enjoy it with your negativity that makes no sense when the team has obviously made the turn already and will only get better.

Smiling at broken promises and painful losses gets tiring after 47 years.

You deserve a winner, jimmy. Unfortunately, it's tough to root for you because you pull for the same team as Elmhurst Steve.

Buck up Buttercup. Theo has not broken any promises. He told us what he was going to do and he has executed his plan extremely well. The finishing touches have to be attended to this winter. The team is on the cusp.
