With Schwarber having struggled against lefties last season and the 4th outfielder (Coghlan) also being a left handed hitter, I can see bringing him in to compete for a spot. I expect Baez to make the team out of spring training, so I doubt Murton gets a spot at the major league level. Likely to be a depth piece at AAA who can be called up in the event of an injury.

He broke ichiro's record for hits in a single season in his first year playing in Japan. That was your moment. Since then, his numbers went down in that league and while his latest average there was not bad (.278 I believe it was) it was rather pedestrian. But in a platoon, he could still be an asset.

That's why theo brought him home. He is an assassin as ichiro was too. He will help this ballclub in their technique. For a young team he will teach them the new strikezone and taking low strikes. It was a brilliant play by the front office.

I listened to a bit of the Cubs game Friday 3/22. ZZ was doing the play by play. Classic ZZ. It was basically a slew of excuses for 2018. One after another in between hitters. Coomer chimed in parroting ZZ. Whatever the Cubs do in 2019 ZZ will make it fun with his bs-ing.
