I would enjoy watching, of course, but, in my opinion, it would be a complete slap in the face to that historic 2005 team.

On the other hand, for that same reason, Packer fans should have felt the same way about last year, but I sense none of that - probably preserved honor by persevering through the numerous injuries. Still not a pimple on the hiney of the Favre Title Team, though.

Boston fans probably didn't mind the second one, either, but BOTH of them are tainted now that we know what we know about Manny, and what we think we know about Papi.

"The Historic 2005 team" ...That team got so many breaks....from facing the Boston red Sox without Schilling and Graffininos huge error in game 2, to not having to face the Angels best pitcher (Bartolo Colon) and the bullshit call on A.J.'s play to reach base....to not having to face Roger Clemens in the World series at full strength....they got more breaks than any team in history. Now THAT is a tainted title!

They didn't need those "breaks" though. They steamrolled through the playoffs.

Not to mention that he referenced an error as a break. I wonder if he thinks that it was a break when the other team struck out or a pitcher threw a bad pitch too.

David Wells was DEALIN in that game ( I was there). It looked like the series was going to be evened when....ohhhh, Graffinino makes an error on an easy grounder....up steps Iguchi who hits a 3-run homer. He never gets to bat with those runners on base if not for the error. It was a huge turning point in the game. If the series had gone to 1-1 rather than 2-0, things may have gone differently.
