McFail might have been a good baseball guy, but he sold out when he became the Cubs President. He got shares of the Tribune company and was just an executive of a divsion of the Trib Corp.

His job was never to win, it was to make money. So as long as the $20 - $40 mill made it back to the Trib and WGN Tv/Radio could advertise for free, McFail did his job.

Winning was a secondary concern as it is with the McCaskeys.

I think they want to win, but not at the cost of losing money.

Last years spending spree was great, but notice this year, they spent nothing and are $20 mill under the cap?
