IMO, the start of this season so far is a scary preview for what is in store for us all year long. Our pitching wasn't up to par last season, and from what we have seen thusfar in Spring Training, not much has changed. I will obviously give the team the benefit of the doubt, seeing as though we are two games in, but Contreras and Garland were supposed to be our "for-sure" guys.

Buerhle scares the hell out of me.

the defending champ cardinals are 0-3

the defending champ white sox last year won their first game, then dropped the next 4.

i feel better today. i just dont want to see this team coming out of april at lke 3 games below .500

Not only are the Cardinals 0-3, they are using Kip Wells as a #2 and Braden Looper as a #3. The Cubs are looking better and better in that division.

So are the Brewers. My pick. And don't look now but the Pirates are 3-0.

same here. that mcdowell knows a thing or two about pitching is an excellent change of pace from the usual "silent Hawk" and "awkward DJ" periods.

you know, CB Bucknor sucks. He blew the call on Pods' bunt, and he's had some wierd strike calls for both teams all game. Every game i see that asshole ump, no matter who's playing, he blows a call. He sucks. him and angel hernandez need to go.

Yup. It's also interesting that every time I see altercations or jawing between umps and a player/coach it is either buckner or hernandez. They seem to do a good job at pissing a lot of people off. He just screamed at the Sox dugout right after a pitch and will probably end up booting somebody before the game is over.

As optimistic as I was that Contrearas would recover, I think Buhrle is toast.

I'm still there. I thought this thread was the clearinghouse for premature judgements about the sox. I wanted to make sure to join in the fun.

I'll try another:

Brian Anderson will never be an everyday player in MLB.

By the way, that is 5 good starts in a row for Sox pitchers. Nice.

Anderson had a nice catch today for a fill in. Knowing the way injuries happen in the MLB, I wouldnt be too surprised if you get proven wrong sooner than later in the season. Hope he improved enough to hit over .240 if hes called upon.

Starters are settling in. Keepin the fingers crossed.

You are also missing the point.

Since this thread was started after 3 innings of the first game of the season, I thought it was for unreasonable knee jerk reactions. I believe neither Buhrle is toast nor Anderson will be a career bench warmer.

Fuck the offense, but even that is coming around. Watch out AL Central, the sox are warming up.
