It's easy this year. MLB says that every team gets to have at least one guy.

Bobby Jenks.

That's it. The Sox wouldn't have anybody if it weren't for that rule. Buehrle could be an All Star if he were on many other teams. But the Sox don't give him any wins. Garland would be a fringe guy if the Sox supported him better too.

jenks has to be there. sox have what, 30 wins and he has 19 saves?

i could see leyland taking buerhle too. wins are nice, but he knows the sox have sucked, and the numbers buerhle has put up-- sans wins-- are definitely all star worthy. plus, he has a no hitter. if any pitchers back out due to "injuries," buerhle should be there

an aside, fan voting is cool, but there is no way david ortiz should be starting at first base, and mags not starting in RF. the fans should still get to vote, with top vote getters making the team, but they shouldnt automatically start

Send whichever Bossard is the current groundskeeper, none of the players deserve a sniff, and I have no desire to watch anyway. (Sox fan since '71)

Can Aaron Rowand still go for the Sox?

Jenks makes alot of sense. The only other guy with perhaps an outside chance with a few more good starts would be a Jon Garland who is 5-5 with a sub 3.4 ERA.

I would think Mark Buerhle. Do you think the no hitter gets him in over Garland?

The no hitter shouldn't have any influence on him going to the all star game. It was one game. If he gave up a hit that day that doesn't make his first half any greater or worse.

I looked it up. Buehrle is like 8th or 9th in starter ERA. Yes he should have more wins but I think they only take 5 starters to the All Star game. With the Sox poor reccord he shouldn't go. Buehrle deserves a better reccord but you can't reward him because the Sox suck.

I know. I said he's good and would probably be an all star with a good team that supports him. But not this year with this Sox team.

You know what's funny? Buehrle's worst year in MLB was last year. Many people forget that he was an all star last year. You're pretty good when you make the all star team in your worst year. LOL.

Don't get me wrong. Buehrle's second half was just terrible. But he had 8 wins with like a 3.60 ERA when he was selected to the All star team.

Come on guys . Kenny also can be proud of Maggs, Carlos Lee and Aaron Rowand.

Let me also say that Pods and Jim Thome can take a walk as well . I 've seen enough of these two guys to tell me they can't stay healthy and it's time to cut bait with both. Tear it down and rebuild .

The White Sox were one of the best 1st half teams last year, and he pitched well. I think his last start was horrible as well, and that brought up his ERA after he was selected.
