I would like to think Jim Thome for hitting 450 of his 500 HR's against us and beating our asses for all those years in Cleveland.

I would like to thank Jim for being a diehard Cub fan growing up.

I would like to thank Jim Thome for wearing his White Sox uniform when he is inducted into the Hall of fame.

I would like to thank Jim Thome for playing in 120 games this year.

I would like to thank Jim Thome for getting rid of a great CF on a World Series team.

I would like to thank Jim Thome for his part in winning the World Series.

I know we don't have much to celebrate this year, but Jim Thome is not my guy, Good guy, but not my guy

Jim Thomse is my guy. A very likeable good guy, always veru professional and nice wherever he goes. One of the vew athletes nowadays you can say is an acceptable role model for your kids.

so we should not cheer him because he happened to come up with cleveland?

we should not cheer him because the CFwho was to take the place of the fire and passion couldnt hit his way out of a paper bag?

should we not cheer mark buerhle because he's a cardinals fan? konerko grew up in new england, and probably rooted for the red sox. maybe we should boo him.

120-130 games is fine for a guy approaching 40 years old with back problems.

i dont care what he's done in the past while on other teams. he wear's a white sox uniform now, and ill cheer him all i want. not only that, his historic homer won the game today.

yeah. do you think after last years ALCS tiger fans were cursing mags because he played all those years against the tigers? not only that, the phillies are still paying a good chunk of thome's salary. and like i said, whether it was career HR number 10 o 600, it won the game today so that alone is reason enough to "go crazy"

This thread sucks! Thome broke my heart throughout those years but how many rings did that team get? Suck on it Cleveland! Especially after how Cleveland scum...err fans treated him during the return, I'd guess he'd be more likely to adopt another fanbase. I would've even liked him back then if I knew what a great guy he was, and you can tell it's a not a fake "good guy". He even said it was the storybook script to do it infront of the best fans!, I love this guy, I'm sorry Frank couldn't do it here, but this was the next best thing, Congrats Jim

Hard to bash Thome, way too nice of a guy, but I get the point.

it's like the Blue jays having a celebration for Frank Thomas, The Ranger fans going crazy for sammy or the cub fans waiting for Fred mcGriff's 500th...ur egh his 485th Hr.

Jim Thome is the epitome of what every athlete should strive to be. A few people in this city should be taking lessons.

Dempster, Ryan
Grossman, Rex

Class is in session.

Thank you Jim Thome for waiting until my 10 y/o was in the stands to witness "history" by his favorite current player!

Thanks to Richar and Fields for giving Thome the chance too.

Richar is starting to hit nicely. The average is still bad, but that is what happens when you hit .100 in your first 100 ABs

Or if you're Josh Fields - your last 100AB's
He's stunk since the move to LF.

Playing 3B 269AB's .238 16hr 48rbi
Playing OF 63AB's .206 3hr 11rbi
