The Sox will be without their closer (8 of 9 in save opportunities in 2016 with a 0.84 ERA) for the next two games of the Baltimore series as he has gone on the bereavement list (to mourn the death of their win streak perhaps?) for a minimum of 3 days and not more than 7. It began yesterday, but with Danks pitching there was no need for a closer and Robertson's absence was not even noticed. Nate Jones, who has struggled at times when inserted into the closer position, will take over the spot in the event a closer is employed at all in the next 2 games. The Sox expect he will return for the game on Sunday that wraps up the 4 game series in Baltimore.
