I seriously doubt they’d get Benintendi. Dave Cameron wrote a good article about JBJ. The WS will have to add a player or eat some money but that trade really works for both sides.

Add a player?! "JBJ" is out of contract after this season. Jose Abreu-- a legit slugger-- is signed for two more seasons.

Lordy, this is dumb.

Rumors are the Sox asked for Devers or Benintendi and talks shut down. You have to move him if that is the quality of the return. I would go so far as to sweeten the pot if either of those guys could be had.

If you could put Benintendi in CF, Avi in RF then I would certainly think about quickening the pace of Jimenez up to MLB if he kills it in AA for half a year. That is a good OF.

Good. They only move Abreu if they get wowed. This is the correct take, thank you Hahn resume with the offseason.

Exactly.

Ask for the moon. If some team gives it to you, jump all over it.

Otherwise keep a SOLID slugging 1B until you get what you want for him.

Tough market to trade an aging 1B who’s going to earn around $40M over the next two seasons.

In 2 years he's a FA and he's gone. I'd trade him now and get something.

Sure it is when you have FA options like JD Martinez, Eric Hosmer, Carlos Santana or Logan Morrison.

Let me explain it to you this way. If you put him on waivers he would be claimed immediately.

I kinda view Abreu as a mentor to the guys coming up rather than a talent that might leave in 3yrs.

Red Sox and Cards both still targeting Abreu. Agree Sox should keep him but will trader Hahn resist the temptation to move him for more prospects if a bidding war develops?? Both STL and BOSOX have to make a major move after the Stanton trade to NYY.

If neither team land JD Martinez (hoping SF gets him) or Hosmer (hope SD ponies up), there should be a BOS/STL bidding war. Think both teams will shoot higher than Bruce, Santana, or Matt Adams.

That Keyser wants to move Abreu, but has no problem with spending a boatload of cash for Martinez, Santana, or Morrison.
