Buehrle is fine. Actually, Vasquez deserved to be a 18 or 19 game winner last year. He still is a concern cuz he never has had back to back good years.

Agreed. And the Sox won't win the division. They'll hover around .500 and probably lose a few more than they win.

As far as every Sox pitcher being capable of starting out 2-10, that can be said for many rosters, the Cubs included. The top two in the Sox starting five wouldn't shock me if they started out 5-2 or 6-2 with their stuff and the Sox offense. 10-2... that would surprise me.
Willis will be awful this year. Book it.

It would be a tough call on him or Buehrle, but I would absolutely take him over Javy. If you look at their careers stats there really is not much of a difference between Willis and Buehrle.

Buehrle- 107-75, 3.80 ERA, 1.26 WHIP
-He is 29 years old and has 8 years of exp.

Willis- 68-54, 3.78 ERA, 1.36 WHIP
-He is 26 years old and has 5 years of exp.

Just for shits and giggles, other than what I have seen with my own eyes, his inability to pitch consistently deep into games being the key factor, here are good ol' Javy's numbers to substantiate my point:

115-113, 4.28 ERA, 1.26 WHIP
-He is 31 years old.

If you broke those stats down down and adjusted them for years spent in NL vs AL those numbers are going to look a lot different for your boy D train. Add in the fact that his last good year was 2005 and it appears to be more than just a trend.

We'll see this year because the game is played on the field and not with a bunch of spreadsheets.

Jim Leyland is going to be smoking a lot of Marlboros this year with that pitching staff.

I'm still taking Buehrle. The arrow is pointing down for Willis.
Javy vs. Willis is much closer due to Vazquez's inability to go after 5 innings with any consistancy, but I'd take him over Willis.
Career numbers is a different arguement. It's who are you taking right now.

I know. He was good in 2005 and 2006. Give Kenny credit for trading him at the perfect time when his value was highest. It got us Gio which got us Swisher.
