The black jerseys are some of the greatest of all time, up there with the Oakland Raiders, LA Kings, etc. Maybe you’re just not hip hop enough.

And maybe you should have more empathy for the fat guys who benefit from wearing thinning colors. Yonder Alonso, Wellington Castillo, etc. Never mind that they fucking suck.

In terms of personal preference I'd rank the Sox uniforms grey, white, black (I love that Chicago script too and hate the Cubs'), but I recognize that the black is the iconic Sox uniform from 1990 on.

The black tops are awesome, far superior to the road grey jerseys.

As for the 83 alternates, they have been worn far too much for a throwback. Save the throwback for only a couple dates per year. Perhaps rotate in other throwbacks as well, the Sox have to have nearly a dozen throwback options to choose from. Perhaps the 59's should be worn a few times.

I've always thought the old red pinstripes with red hat was the best look they ever had. I don't totally dislike the black look, but it feels a little played out to me. i'm a little tired of all the black uniforms in sports in general.

Agree with MANY statements above. The '72 uniform was a nice return a few years ago and a good throwback look. Reminds me of Bill Melton and that team era. That was the first uniform I can vividly recall as a yoot. I also like the red hat with the white "Sox" logo and white button at top.

The '83 is now stale - overused in recent years. The current road grays with the black "Chicago" script are one of the best.

Even though the '76 pajamas are infamous, they are one of my faves. I like the '76 logo on the hat as well.

JORR brought up the '59 throwbacks which are also one of my faves. Especially the hat... that's a great "SOX" logo on the '59 hat.

I think the current home white and black pinstripes were created specifically to be timeless and iconic with the inaugural season of new Comiskey Park - much like the Yankees as stated previously. Also, the current black hat with the Old English "Sox" looks sharp.
