Shouldn't this have been posted in the North section?

That's not funny. Alexei Ramirez is playing outstanding baseball since he replaced Juan Uribe at second base in Anaheim last month. Not only is he hitting around .290, but Ramirez has been flashing the kinds of "Web Gems" that should get ESPN's undivided attention on "Baseball Tonight". The double play he turned from short center at Dodger Stadium last night was a prime example. Speaking of Uribe, I hate to sound like a broken record, but with DeWayne Wise playing extremely well and Paul Konerko expected back from the DL next week, could he and/or Pablo Ozuna be among the odd men out when he's activated? As for Ramirez, he's the second baseman THE REST OF THE SEASON! I really like watching him play!

I'd rather have Alexi over Aramis.

I doubt anyone wants him so he probably has no value. He's not a terrible bench guy.

Some team might have an injury to their short stop. You might be able to trade Uribe then. But there is no down side in having him on your bench.

What will the Sox get for him in a Uribe trade that will help this team this year anyway? Nothing.

Uribe is good insurance if Cabrera or Ramirez get hurt. Uribe is a good glove man.

I read something on ChicagoSports.com late last week that Juan Uribe may still have value...as a shortstop. I think manager Ozzie Guillen wants to keep 12 pitchers on the roster, which makes Uribe, Ozuna or even DeWayne Wise expendable once Konerko is activated. Speaking of pitchers, the word on Esteban Loaiza is not good. Sun-Times White Sox writer Joe Cowley has the word in his notebook today that Loaiza's velocity at Triple "A" Charlotte isn't there, and it could be tough for him to come back, according to Ozzie.

He can play exceptional defense at 3 infield positions, he has power off the bench and he seems to have accepted his role as a backup this year. You'd never pay a backup 4.5 million, but at this point in the year, that is a sunk cost.
