That's a great comp for him.

On a side note, how does the great David Ross bring in Cuas to face two lefties in the 8th?

Fulmer 8 pitches into an immaculate inning…

Edit: not quite immaculate but pretty good. The high strike on moncada was bullshit but he’d have eventually K’d anyway.

Grandal occasionally swings like a guy who played high school baseball and hasn’t touched a bat in 25 years.

yeah a couple of those swings were miserable.

Seemed like Robert pulled up way too soon on Bellingers double. It hit low enough he could have made that play.

Santos has excellent stuff and could be great. But he went 5 outs yesterday. Grifol with another dumb move.

You can't always tell on tv just how much the sox jog around the bases rather than running full speed. It's not just some of them...every single one. There were at least three mental errors that weren't counted as errors (clevinger covering first, tim giving up on a grounder he thought moncada could get, robert pulling up an a ball to the wall because of no communication with Benintendi). They deserve who they are and Grifol hasn't changed a thing. I don't know why I should care if the players don't and the manger allows it.

I hope it pisses off the snowflake sox fans when they exercise Clevinger's option for next year and I hope they bring in Bauer to boot.

I saw a couple in A's "Sell" t shirts. I applauded them because we know each other's pain.

Ricky has been the best manager on both sides of town in the last decade

This is more than a Grifol thing, though you are right he hasn't done anything to correct it. The Sox have been a bad defensive team (for the most part), a bad baserunning team, and team that makes mental errors for years now. The organization allows this as well as the manager. If there is no accountability in the front office, why would anyone on the field be held accountable?

To your point above, at least Ricky tried kicking guys in the ass by benching them when they half assed it. Not sure if that does any good at the MLB level but at least he tried something.
