Rich Hahn is excited about this season so we should be as well!

Division Champs!

This is fair. I don't expect much so I would love for this team to prove me wrong.

Gotta start from somewhere I suppose.

Personally, I’m starting from an assumption that they suck based on the players sucking last year. I appreciate Grifol is new but almost everybody else of note has a track record of shitting the bed.

Telling Rick Hahn to get Leury Garcia the fuck out of there is a good start towards me giving Grifol the benefit of the doubt.

No, I heard him. I just posted the link from MLB Trade Rumors on the off-season thread.

But it's a good start. The kid Romy might suck worse then Leury, but he's just holding space for Montgomery.

Might be a band aid on a broken leg, but its hard to disagree. I am certain that Leury would still be here if TLR were manager.

Correct. Now, if he sees Moncada extend his affinity to not hustle and take himself out for minor owies and gets rid of him, I will be happy.

IMO, four things need to happen before they take the next step. You need to get Grandal off this team, trade Giolito, develop another SP, and Moncada needs to stop fucking around.

Giolito had a productive spring, Grandal did not. I know it means next to nothing. But if you're going to spend a month getting ready, it should be at least in the neighborhood of productive. We had like 6 guys in WBC. They should be more than ready to go.

The WBC is one thing but maybe he didn't want to shit the bed in front of his Cuban buddies and tried. I don't think Moncada gives a shit about the White Sox. He has made his millions and is into himself. I think that he was and is over-rated as a player.

Completely true.

I can almost give the guy the benefit of the doubt that he is not soft, that he is simply injury-prone. But his not hustling in the field, the half-heartedly waving at a batted ball with his glove, that drives me nuts.

He was supposed to be an easy 20 HR 20 SB guy when he came up. He's never come close to 20 SB and only hit 20 HR once.

We have him for 2 more years. At his best, he's an acceptable starter at 3B. Hopefully we get his best as this should be his prime

The Sox are saying Moncada unlocked something. The WBC shows he unlocked something. Maybe he unlocked something. Now's the time, it's a make or break year for him.

Maybe the jerseys were billowy but I thought he looked heavy at the WBC

As called out earlier...Grandal is the bigger question mark. Moncada can field adequately. Grandal is awful defensively at a position where that matters. I want him off the roster as soon as possible.

Perhaps he might not strain so much if he lost some of that gold necklace shit he has hanging from his neck?
