It's going to be a rough year for this offense without making major changes. On most days, they still have easy outs in 4-5 spots and their best hitters are more or less average hitters. No difference makers outside of Vargas in the last month. Quero has been decent, but he has been regressing with no power. Chase has played well but will he have any staying power? They occasionally have offensive outbursts, but most days are going to be offensively challenged.

i'd recommend opting out on white sox baseball. why bother consuming any of this crap? football i can understand watching bad bears teams because there's so few games each season. but to be actively watching this white sox team, i'm not sure i understand.

Yeah, I get it. But they are not unwatchable this year (heck of a compliment, I know) and it's just who I am.

A bad Bears team has always been easier not to watch because sometimes the Sox throw good starting pitching out there and they have a chance, whereas some of those Bears teams were overmatched from the get go. (Last year was different when the Bears blew games....and won against GB.)

Thanks for sharing that. 2016 was my least favorite Sox season--not because of the Cubs, but because, as Hahn stated, they started 23-10 (shoulda been 24-9) and the collapsed. Sale was suspended and traded after the season. Now I hear Hahn didn't have to trade Tatis.

It was a loss to Houston where they were up like seven runs and truthfully the franchise has really never been the same since.

No, clearly it was the the prioritization of taking public money to build a stadium to help solve income inequality and advancing the noble goal of righting past wrongs that was the downfall of the franchise. Instead of building a capitalist regime that would draw in wealthier fans by maximizing attendance and monetizing obvious revenue opportunities to sign elite free agents and retain top internal talent, management has courted the disaffected blue collar sports fan in second hand clothing. Losing games at historic rates is the price of being on the right side of history. Look at those fools paying $70 for obstructed view seats at a stadium that was outdated 50 years ago. They get to watch exciting baseball in a packed stadium with a 60% chance of seeing their team win in a neighbor populated by current and future yuppies of the top 1%. Bunch of idiots up north!

Not sure if this is the game you mean, but in 2016, it was in KC. Up 7-1 in the 9th inning. They blew a two or three run lead in the 8th inning the next day, too.

When they at least have aspirations of being good, I tend to get pissed off when they lose. When they're not even trying to be good, I'm just a guy watching a random baseball game and don't get upset when they lose. Therefore, at least on one level, watching them this year is easier than watching them in 2021.
