Boy, did they need that win. Going into Yankee stadium after a 3 game sweep would not be fun. Gavin looked really good and Pauly just keeps hitting home runs. Hopefully Ozzie won't fuck things up too bad this weekend.

I'm happy the White Sox won today, but the Juan Pierre story overshadowed today's "W". You won't see #1 tomorrow vs. Andy Pettitte, nor will you see Carlos Quentin, out with a hamstring. SCORE/Sun-Times Sox insider Joe Cowley tweeted late this afternoon that Pierre will no longer be the team's leadoff hitter, and mentioned something tonight about Alex Rios possibly leading off vs. lefties such as Pettitte and Mark Teahen (?) vs. righties such as ex-Sox Javy Vazquez Saturday & Phil Hughes Sunday in the wrap-up of the road trip.

Gordon Beckham, who went 2-for-4 today and is now batting .221, had also been mentioned as a possible leadoff hitter, but Ozzie shot that idea down. Even though I can picture Beckham as a future leadoff hitter, Ozzie seems to want a leadoff hitter who can get on base consistently and set the table for the rest of his lineup. While Rios could fit the bill, I'm not so sure Teahen has leadoff hitter in him.
