Dr. Beardown.....seriously?

The Sox could go with 4 men until the All Star break, resulting in one missed start, keep it going right after for a second missed start and bring him back for Saturday July 24. That's 18 days off, with putting very little strain on the rest of the staff.

Anyone else happen to notice how well Hudson is doing in AAA? I have full confidence the Sox will not miss a beat even with this injury.

Yeah. That's what I was saying. They can survive without him for a month. Sorry for saying he had a torn UCL. I was just guessing on the fly.

Pena pitched a few innings yesterday so he can't be used for a couple of days. You can actually start Pena the last Sunday before the all star break if you want. That would have been Peavy's next start. He can go 4 or 5 innings and the bullpen can take over. Or they can call up Hudson for that start if they want.

Hawk mentioned how well Hudson has been pitching on yesterday's broadcast.

Detached latissimus dorsi muscle. I'm no doctor but anything detatched doesn't sound good.

Peavy is probably out for the year, I think you hope he comes back next year all healthy.

Yeah, he does indeed have a healthy track record.

It's just a stinger.

You'll be fine.

This is very disappointing; I hope he gets healthy and comes back ready to kick some ass next year.

I have faith in Hudson; I think he's actually going to be OK. Is asking for 6 wins too much from this guy after the all-star break?

With surprising Freddy coasting and Buerhle, Dank and Floyd living up to expectations, this will be a boost for Hudson.

With the "greatest bullpen ever," Sox pitching will keep them in this thing until the end.

I can think of worse, but this is pretty bad. The starting staff takes a huge hit, but I am anxious to see Hudson. There are plenty of rookie pitchers doing well for contending teams.
