This is a different team without Morneau. Kubel and Cuddyer are seem so much less intimidating without his presence and you know Morneau is most likely not going to take you deep.

I like the pitching matchups in each of these games, but I simply cannot believe the Sox will sweep.

Pretty tense game last night.

Guys, I think Mark Kotsay or Andruw Jones, now with 400 career homers, could be the odd men out when Mark Teahen returns. Dayan Viciedo could be the White Sox answer to Kevin Youkilis, playing first and third from time to time, with Teahen possibly headed back to the outfield just like in Kansas City when he's fully healthy.

I think the Sox are more likely to remain with the veterans. Kotsay has been hitting better (although he still plays too much) and Jones does provide solid defesne off the bench.

Do you picture Viciedo, Brent Lillibridge or perhaps lefty Erick Threatt going back to Triple "A" when Teahen returns likely in August?

If he has options left, I would bet on Lillibridge.

Unless Viciedo is part of a trade I think it will be Lillibridge. Threets will be sent down when Chris Sale is ready. He was promoted to triple A yesterday.

BD, it's a good problem to have, but I've liked what I've seen from Viciedo in very limited at-bats. I think you'll see him in the lineup this eve vs. Francisco Liriano and the Twins. Even before Teahen broke his index finger, you may have noticed less of #23 at third in favor of Omar Vizquel late in games the White Sox were in position to win. Vizquel, for his age, has improved the defense at third since Teahen went down.

Joe Cowley claims that the league hasn't yet figured out that Viciedo can't hit breaking balls. What say you to that, Shark?

The Sox are getting the best Lillibridge has right now. I think they have to ride that for a while. When he returns to normal, and I expect that to be soon, he will be the one designated. He does not have options and someone will pick him up, like they did Nix.
