Somebody named Tanner Bibee, 3.11 ERA, beat Cease, 4.15 ERA.

Katz is smart to never be interviewed. Once he's fired, he also won't get an interview.

Only Oakland has given up more walks. Bye, Ethan.

He should have been gone a long time ago. He has done nothing for this pitching staff. Cooper would at least occasionally turn a nothing into useful pieces. I think Katz has actually made ever pitcher worse that has come to the Sox.

I agree. Every pitcher on this team has the same problems. Get a batter down 0-2 then throw 3 pitches in the dirt or in the press box. They're mentally weak and walk too many batters.
As much as I wanted to punch Don Cooper's fat face every time I heard him talk, he had that "Fuck you!" attitude that he passed along to his pitchers. That's missing with this team.

One of the guys coming back to the Sox is said to be Gavin Stone. He has only given up 28 hits and 17 ER in 12 big league innings. So that's nice.

*EDIT- this did not end up being the case.

I wouldn't have been surprised if the deal was Lynn/Kelly to Dodgers (and their contracts), a "Thank you" from the Dodgers coming back to the Sox.

Maybe they suck, maybe they become HOF'ers, but the fact that they got 2 younger pitchers back is shocking to me.

in fairness the starting pitcher seems like a decent return for getting rid of some garbage.

THe problem is going from the Dodgers player development machine to whatever is going on with the Sox.

Giolito is a pretty good pitcher. He's not going to be worth the money he gets, but a good player.
Otherwise, the Sox gave up three garbage pitchers on expiring deals and got 3 arms and a high rated MiLB catcher in return. That's a pretty good haul I would have to say.

Hopefully they aren't done.

Korey Lee. Astros #5 prospect

Andrew Vaughn's college teammate. Not sure that's a + or -, but another C prospect. Although, the brief review I saw makes him sound like a C that isn't very good at C. Another DH for the Sox!

two vastly different scouting reports I saw were the mlbpipeline one you referenced and another one that said he is MLB ready defensively. Both said he had an elite arm behind the plate. Most likely the Sox starting catcher next year. Can't be worse than what they have gotten this year

The Dodgers reliever's numbers are really impressive. They probably have so many prospects they couldn't possibly use at the big league level. There had to have been multiple people interested in Kelly and Lynn to get a pretty nice haul. Three guys they got today may be as close to being on the team in 2024.

I parlayed that with the over (9.5) and Burger getting a hit.

huh . what book ? I use BetMGM, over was 10. I took that too but at a lesser amount. Going big on the -1.5
i don't really understand why sometimes the o/u will be a whole number. do one of you more seasoned gamblers know why ? I guess it does allow for a push
