Not for the money it would have taken for the Sox to sign him.

You might want to check what he signed for. If you believe that was a hometown discount to the Cubs, then just look at what he almost signed with the Orioles for. He isn't worth that?

They have got to trade for a right fielder and move Eaton back to CF. They're down 2 bats with this current alignment. Jackson is fucking useless in center and Eaton doesn't profile as a right fielder. They desperately need a big bat in right and Jackson on the bench or the scrap heap. The offense instantly gets better with plus bats in CF and RF.

Agreed....and I will add...
imagine how much worse the lineup would be if LaRoche was still playing, Yikes.

The lineup would probably be a little better actually. LaRoche could simply not be worse than Avi has been so far. Except for one at bat against Cleveland 2 weeks ago, Avi has been putrid. Jim Abbot could put up better numbers.

IMU, Fowler was never going to sign with the O's so your point is moot. I believe he is a niche player in an incredible lineup for the Cubs. Its the perfect situation for him and the team. Fowler would not be putting up anything close to what he is doing right now if he played for another team. You will likely see this happen next year when he signs for $40-50mil.
