Have to say that I find sox games more tolerable if I turn down the volume like I do on cub broadcasts, like Jason on everything but sox baseball, and Stoney is just doing the same thing the rest of the sox are doing, checking off days on the calendar till the end of another mediocre to sub mediocre season mercifully comes to an end.

Catchers interference is way up over the last 15 years. The reason is the emergency hack(basically swinging at the catcher's glove) and catchers trying to receive the ball more over the plate to fool the ump.

Jacoby Ellsbury owns the MLB record of reaching base 31 times on catchers interference.

I find it pretty unlikely they are going to match another's teams best offer for Giolito whether that's 5 or 6 years or $25-$30M a season (which may seem high, but if the market is light and he pitches well....)

If you're not going to pay him, why wouldn't you trade him? Sox are caught in a tough spot in this division. They can probably trade him and not be any worse than they are now (which is still probably one of the ten worst teams in baseball based on record).

Not at all surprised at the result. The offense hasn't been doing much lately and unless they score at least 6 or 7+ when Lynn starts, they aren't likely to win. They ate money with Keuchel and Leury so I really don't know why they keep trotting Lynn out there every 5 games.

He's 4-7 with a 6.75 ERA and 1.56 WHIP. He has started 14 games and only 5 have been quality starts. He's given up 5 runs or more in six of those starts.

Bring up Jesse Scholtens or Chase Solesky, or send Lynn packing when Davis Martin returns soon. They can't do much worse than the numbers Lynn has put up this year so far.
