I have been a big supported of the Plan. While it required many years of absolute horse crap, at least it is paying dividends. The retooling and spending of lots of dollars that so many advocated for the Cubs seems to be a failing proposition on the South Side. I think Hahn made a lot of good moves the past two off seasons, but I can't figure why these guys can't play to their career averages. The defense is the most disturbing aspect.

I didn't know that stat on errors. I guess you can make a few more when you can score runs. I would expect a lot of errors with the Cubs since they have a mix of young players and several journeymen in the outfield. I can't believe they have more than the Sox though.

If you believe in advanced defensive stats then the Cubs are middle-of-pack at 14th overall while the Sox are dead last 30th. The advanced statistical view looks at range of the plays the players are making. Supposedly they are very volatile in a small sample so weigh them however you want.

The Cubs have some of the best range at SS in 2B in MLB. Maybe the single best, but I'd have to look.

Castro makes a bunch of errors...many he shouldn't. But he also makes a bunch of plays guys not named Andrelton cannot make.
