Jokes are supposed to be funny. You want a joke, look at the Cubs scoreboard the last several games

The Cubs are a joke now, just like the Sox between this guy being Imagepresident and 2019. I'd hazard a guess the Cubs will be competitive again before Candace Owens takes office.

I'd Hazard a guess that you get at least two booster shots before the Cubs are competitive again :D :D

The second I saw the size of the grandstand I was waiting for some White Sox attendance joke. I'm surprised it took this long.

A comment on the 9th, Tim Anderson is going to get all the credit in the world and rightly so. But he doesn't get to the plate as the winning run without perhaps the best at bat of the ballgame by Seby Zavala. Down 0-2, he takes a pitch that most guys would whiff at, fouls one off, then takes three outside of the zone to draw the walk. Two of the three weren't bad pitches. He's hitting 9th, is basically your 3rd catcher yet the Sox don't win without him walking and hitting a HR yesterday. IMO, that solidifies his spot on the roster for the rest of the year. Collins goes down when Grandal comes back.

This is true...that walk was HUGE.
Also of note is with Chapman out, they rolled out a soft(er) left hander rocking a 5+ ERA this year. Zack Britton has decent career numbers but that's a horrible matchup facing TIMMAY.

Smoltz called it too. "Sinkerball pitcher, and a lowball hitter. This is a good matchup for Anderson." (paraphrased)

10 seconds later, walkoff HR.

That’s a something. Too bad for MLB the Field of Dreams game will never be recreated. It will just be terrible attempts of recreating that magic.

What's scary for the future of the game is that only 5 million people watched, and it's considered great. I don't think anyone under 35 has the patience to sit through a baseball game anymore.

baseball is doing fine. There are a lot of marketable players and revenues continue to go up. TV viewership as a whole is down and that's across everything and is more a reflection upon changes in the media landscape and how we consume entertainment.

It's a longer thought than this, but I think we are losing something without shared experiences. Within our lifetimes there were 50-60 million people watching the World Series. I don't know what the game will be in 20 years now, but a diminished regional sport seems about right.

And I would bet that most of your peers aren't watching full baseball games either. It's just not resonating. Kids will watch highlights, but not hours long games or even movies.

Until the 9th, I thought the game itself kinda sucked. It was the same ol three outcome boring ass shit. 23 K, 11 BB, 8 HR.

What was different? Drone sunsets, balls landing in corn, and a MLB game near a farmhouse.
