All I saw tonight was Sr. Mary Jo. She's got Zito-like movement.

Renteria won't be the manager next season. I'd imagine someone like Vizquel is.

Girardi is a pipe nightmare. He's worn out his welcome wherever he's been.

If you think Renteria is a problem, you're just braindead. You have Moncada and Anderson and Engel up the middle. The ghosts of Connie Mack and John McGraw ain't winning with that crap.

Renteria is a dolt. Girardi was replaced by an iPad because the Yankees fell for the memes a bit too hard.

Any chance we can get the ghost of Branch Rickey to generally manage?

hey these sox uniforms. remember back in the 80s when they came out everyone hated them. now they're classics. funny how that works.

do you guys also remember how they chose these unis? they had like a bunch of 15-20 uni's that the fans voted on thru the newspapers.

wish I could find the alternative choices. I remember voting for one of them but it didnt get chosen. I think the majority of people voted for that one i voted for but they went w/ these instead. maybe these cost less back then?

found an article about it : http://www.espn.com/espn/page2/story/_/ ... ortCat/mlb

Here it is!!! I think I voted for the one that had the star and teal looking one.

i was just thinking about Konerko's career.

I remember when he was in the minors he was so hyped up as the next Dodgers superstar. And next MLB supestar.

I forgot why they traded him, but i think they got him for a pitcher from the Reds. Then he got traded to the WSox and by then I think people wrote him off that he wasn't going to be the next great player but maybe average or pretty good.

Who would have known he would become a White Sox Legend. He was perfect for this city. Even had a Chicago sounding name.

Funny how life works.

I actually liked the batting practice jerseys better back then. As soon as I could spare the cash for one, I made a beeline for Morrie Mages.

Was that the one with the ChicaGo? Embarrassment.

Yeah, these were an abomination back then, but I love mine. Price tag was $500 when I got it, but fortunately, the Missus got it through a friend who worked for the company.

Dodgers gave up on him.

At the time--and even for several years afterward--people (idiots, mostly) ripped the trade, which cost the Sox Mike Cameron. Actually, a pretty even trade, though Cincy lost out on trading Cameron a year later. Good player, good glove, good athlete.

I'd much rather have had Konerko than Cameron on the White Sox. Konerko was deservedly the face of the franchise. I don't give a shit about WAR (except, of course, when it supports my arguments).

Taping it and will watch the rest tonight. Can't stand being down 6-0 once again. Might as well do some work and then spend some time with the family.

Ya the White Sox won out on that trade because of this

Girardi sucks. He's a two year manager like Billy Martin or Guillen.

Wouldn't mind them wearing the late 80s unis; still looking for one of those to buy.

Those are my sentimental favorites.
