And this is what happens when an AL team tries to pull a pitcher from the NL for reinforcements. NL pitchers have no business in the AL.

Um. Wait.

Robin is probably going to be on his 4th pitcher by the 5th inning tonite. What a shitshow.

Is the mound at PETCO only 58' away or something? Christ Shields throw your breaking ball for a strike.

Well look on the bright side, he pitched 2 innings today. That is 100% more than his last start

All my trolling aside, I'm really disappointed this has happened to the White Sox. I wanted to see them and the Cubs in a World Series. Sox fans need to demand a complete clean-out from executive down.

I believe Shields has given up 17 runs in his last 4+ innings.

If only looking at his last 2 sharts. His ERA actually went down with last nights performance.

I think he gave up 10 runs to the Mariners in his start previous to this last one, so the bar was not real high. He'll have some good games, but after losing his last 13 starts to teams with a record over .500 now, I can't see being too excited about what he will bring the club. He's a 4th or 5th starter at this point in his career. Why the Sox would agree to take on 27 million for a 4th of 5th starter that loses to good teams is a mystery to me. Gonzalez may well be as good or better, without the higher price tag. Every dollar wasted on a guy like Shields, is a dollar that is unavailable for a guy like Jay Bruce or Cargo.

It was more fun with small sample size. The previous starts ERA worked out to 33.75, last night was 31.50. Obviously he can't maintain that and there was some bad luck involved. Prior to that he has gone 6 innings every start never giving up more than 4 runs.

He will recover, unless there is an undisclosed injury going on.
