It was down the middle at the knees. That's a strike. The first pitch in the sequence was borderline, but I think it crossed the plate in the zone. Hawk needs a little bit of class in these situations.

I think that thing on logan's chin is causing his balance to be off and affecting his effectiveness

Hawk has been this way for years, he's not gonna change.

It was low, ball four. You hardly ever see Thome blink at an umpire, much less get in the face of one. Listen, 3 hits in 7 innings is not going to win you many ballgames, I'll be the first to admit that. But that was ball four to Thome.

No. It was a strike. Pitcher aced him.

Doesn't matter that Thome never argues. It still was a strike despite him arguing.

What the hell, the Tigers are cheating, they should be made to forefit the game. Jones is scuffing the ball, he is also blowing into his hand on the mound, PROOF the umps are against us, bullcrap, this is just bullcrap.

Oh is it nice to see them jump out of the gate with this red hot start. Didn't think the Tigers offense would be this bad for this long, but also didn't think the Sox would be this good. I am extremely pleased with both of the aforementioned situations 8)

I dont know if 7-4 is a red hot start, but yeah the offense has been fantastic and overall you gotta be happy as a Sox fan so far. 18-0 over two games is tough to beat.

They started 0-2, so they are 7-2 in thier last 9 games. Thats pretty hot I'd say.

The "it's early" stuff that everybody alway says is true.

Still, beating the Tigers 5 out of 6 is very significant even though the season is only 2 weeks old.

7-4 isn't that amazing. 7-4 with 5 of them coming against the Tigers makes it a greater accomplishment.

Nice start for the Sox. Getting a very nice start from Floyd has to be a boost as well. May it continue for them throughout the (regular) season.

It's almost like bizarro world, .. Buerlhe and Vazquez have 5-7 Eras and Floyd has been the most consistent through 2 starts? This has to be trending well... Danks Contreras are going to be up and down all year..

there's still fits of failing with ducks on the pond, this has to be the most station-to-station bunch we've seen so far... and theres been a lot of slow squads

Not really. They've done pretty well so far with guys in scoring position. Especially 2 out hits where the guy before fails.

That is good. Can't say i've looked at every single game in great detail, just seemed to remember the game where like 4 solo HRs were hit. Bit of a sore spot for me as it seemed like a lot of solo shots were hit last year...

I don't get that sometimes. When people say they hate solo homers.

In the Sox lost to the Twins they hit 3 solo homers. I heard people on the Score complaining about that. But guess what? Crede and Konerko hit them leading off an inning. They could only hit solo homers in that scenario.

What? Would you rather they get singles and doubles instead of homers when nobody is on base?

I get the point. People need to get on. They have this year. Sox hit 3 grand slams this week. We've had a few 2 run and 3 run shots too.

Yeah. We're gonna hit some solo shots. I'm not gonna bitch about that. It's a good thing when you score a run.

I don't care how many people are on base, if any, but Thome can start hitting anytime now.

It's a good problem to have, obviously overall a run is a good thing, the ideal situation that leads to crooked numbers is the 8-9 AB inning that sends the other manager to the pen quick. HR will come in spurts like every other hitting statistic, if you want to look at say 2005, there was a certain magic there that guys up and down the lineup were stepping up on given nights and manufacturing runs; as well as the batting practice-like games. What was their record in one run games, idunno but it was really amazing if memory serves.

Wow!! Rich King, of WGN 9, just said this was the first time - in the 108 years of the White Sox - that they hit 2 grand slams at home in a single game. They've done it twice on the road. You'd think they would have done that before.

My hooker would argue with that.

No. I just think it's amazing they've never done that in 108 years.

especially with Robin Ventura, who hit like 2000 career grand slams.
