Of course I was gung ho about the bet, it was a stupid statement on your part, to say that there was "No Excuse" for the Sox not to go at least 5-1.

I have no need to involve MJH on the air about this. I just wanted to make sure people here knew it, if you welched on the bet.(That was one reason for the losing party to have to donate the money to charity-besides, I don't need the $100.00) Which a poor loser like you, who has to sit in lousy seats in the upper deck,(and even then has nobody to go with, because he has no friends) is likely to do-welch. I contacted Dan privately, to let him know about the bet you agreed to and have now away from.

I just loved the idea of publicly embarrassing you, which has already been achieved, with only 1 game being played-and the Sox winning that game, to boot.

Who ya crappin, stevie? You bring up Mac almost as much you talk about ending the wait. You must think your Mac's butt buddy or something.

People can read. They don't need to hear it on the air. I know you probably get off hearing your own voice on the radio, but anyone that would want to know about some stupid bet could read it here. You are a prime reason why sterilization could be a good idea, and I am sorry I have sunk to your level and debated in this meatball contest for so long. Adios, and fuck off.

Hawk thought the ump was throwing Quentin out for throwing the bat on the ground but it turns out he was just saying he was gonna fine him.

Oh my, thats unfortunate. 5-1 is gonna be real tough now! Losing to a guy with an 8 plus ERA, thats pretty bad. The guy goes five shutout innings with 8 strikeouts-a career high. Such a shame to waste a good effort by Danks. Maybe Ozzie has to have another rant  .So was the guy really that good tonight, or is the White Sox offense just that sorry? People here claimed that the Sox were going to get to this guy, Verlander and Rogers in the past few days, yet they could do so little against any of them, that it appears to be more than a fluke.

Meanwhile, the Cub's beat Halladay, Toronto's ace.

Frank-I sent Mac the private message, because you balked at the idea of alerting Mac to the bet on air. At that point, I had basically decided that it had to be done off air, as you lack the intestinal fortitude to do it on air. I would make you look just as stupid as you are-VERY, if it was done on air. But I will definitely have something special on air in the days just before the CUBS/sox series. That I guarantee.

Ok, now is about the time you need to go back to the Cubs forum and stop being the fucking meatball you are you bitch. You are the most hypocrtical little bitch on this board. Shut the fuck up, and go back to the Cubs forum and leave us the fuck alone. You are the biggest fucking loser here. Leave the Sox fan alone and shut the fuck up and you for one are never allowed to talk shit about Sox fans having an inferiority complex. Maybe because you have a 3 inch dick you feel the need to come on here after every fucking Sox loss and talk shit, but its old, and everyone thinks you are a fucking loser, including Cubs fans. You are never, ever again allowed to talk shit about Sox fans always caring about what the Cubs are doing because no Sox fan on this board pays as much attention to the Cubs woes as you do with the Sox. You little bitch, you are never around for the 8 or 7 game winning streaks, but whenever they are struggling you are front and center, falsely claiming you saw it coming all along. Go fuck yourself.

Oh my, sounds like someone is frustrated here :!: :!: FF-It was you and the other asshole Sox fans that TRY to run their mouths on Cubs threads and refused to stay away, that brought me here. Seems you can dish it out, but can't take the heat in return. Well too fuckin bad you sorry ass weak minded bitch. I'm gonna keep talking shit here all year if I feel like it and there's not a damn thing you can do about it .

you for one are never allowed to talk shit about Sox fans having an inferiority complex.-- Like I need your sorry ass permission!
FavreFan
By the way, I expect Aaron Cook to beat Contreras tomorrow, and the Sox' bats to remain quiet. Don't want to be accused of making the prediction after the fact. You think I should refrain from posting here-IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK! Oh, and I have gotten many messages already from Cubs fans who are thoroughly enjoying this and none from anyone who is a Cubs fan that wishes this would stop-not that it would matter anyway. I am here to have fun and aggravating assholes like you, is most definitely fun. I shall return...

Ok well, I'll try to explain this to the best of my ability, since you are fucking retarded. I never talk shit about the Cubs or their losses or anyone who is underpeforming. I dont ever go to their forums to gloat about their losses, and Frank and everyone else is the same way. You are the only one on either side of town that is a little bitch and comes to the other forums to talk shit. And then you are arrogarant and ignorant enough to say Sox fans have an inferiority complex. I am not one of those "Asshole Sox fans" that you like to label me as. I like the Cubs. They are easily one of the three best teams in baseball. They are fun to watch. But burritos like you make me want them to lose because you care more about what our team is doing than yours. Whenever Im in the Cubs section I am almost NEVER talking shit about them. Conversely, whenever your maggot ass self is on the Sox forums, you always are saying some negative shit. Go get laid and just chill the fuck out. Your presence here is becoming exponentially unwelcome.

Let me say it one more time-IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK AND I DON'T CARE HOW YOU FEEL. It will not stop, unless I get bored with it. With all the ammo the sox are giving me, I don't see that happening any time soon. However, you get Frank and the other sox fans to stay off the Cubs threads then I will stop my posts here. But I know they can't help themselves, so I'm going to get real comfy over here too. If it really irritates you, so much the better. I DON'T CARE!!! Besides, the CUBS/sox games are coming up and I just have to dig in for that.

This is the last time I will be responding to your fucking stupid posts. As many Cubs fans have already stated, you are by far the biggest meatball on here. Go fuck yourself, you're the biggest fucking meatball on here, which is akin to being the shortest midget. And just remember you are making Sox fans like me who like the Cubs hate them simply because of their retarded meatball fanbase, which you seem more than eager to represent. Congrats.

Many in city are immune to Cubs fever

Even if this is finally the year, Sox fans still got there first

"The whole city of Chicago is really pumped up, isn't it?"

-- Cubs catcher Geovany Soto
North Side, South Side

Not the whole city, kid. Maybe three-fifths of the city, but not everyone. Certainly not as many, as I remember anyway, as was in October 2005.

Have you heard about the couple that named their child Wrigley Fields?

No joke. Cubs fans Paul and Teri Fields have named their wee lad Wrigley Alexander Fields. (At least they didn't name him Strawberry.)

Fast forward to the year 2030, when a 23-year-old man approaches a young woman at Sluggers after a Cubs game and says, "Nice to meet you, my name is Wrigley Fields."

"And I'm Petco Park," she'll respond.

Or maybe not.

What's in a name?

This is the first I've heard of a child named Wrigley. I'm sure there's nobody out there named "U.S. Cellular Field," but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Fenway Park(s) or two living in the Boston area, even though I couldn't find any via a few of those name-search databases.
In the 1990s, a few Bulls fans named their children "Jordan." That's not a bad first name, and you can always tell people you named your girl after the Jordan Baker character in The Great Gatsby.

But Wrigley Fields -- not much doubt as to the origin of that name. That kid's gonna be a Cubs fan for life whether he likes it or not. The question is, is the year of little Wrigley's birth the year the Cubs finally go all the way?

Immune to Cubs fever

As a baseball fan who keeps watching the pennant races even after my team is so far out of it they might as well be playing flag football, I've been keeping up with the Cubbies these last few weeks, and I gotta say it: Pretty good team.

Certainly better than Milwaukee, and probably as talented as any team in the National League. They've got some big, veteran bats and some strong arms, and an Old World manager who has this weird thing about him -- he actually plays the guys who deserve to play.

Barring a huge collapse, the Cubs will make the playoffs, and there's no reason to believe they can't make a serious run, a la last year's Cardinals. Nobody cares about your regular season record if you win the whole thing. Just ask the Detroit Tigers.

When I see the Budweiser commercial with all those good-looking Cubs fans having the time of their lives; when I see the postgame singalong to Steve Goodman's "Go Cubs Go"; when I watch the saturation coverage on the local sportscasts -- I don't hate it like some of my fellow Sox fans hate it, but I don't feel it, either.

It's like watching the Mets or the Indians enjoying first place. I'm totally immune to it. I could be in the bleachers at Wrigley Field and I could catch the World Series-winning home run ball, and I still wouldn't catch a whiff of Cubs Fever.

As I've mentioned before, the lyrics to "South Side Irish" sum up how many Sox fans feel about their North Side rivals:

We sing the songs our fathers sang

When they were growing up

Rebel songs of Erin's Isle

In the South Side Irish pubs

And when it comes to baseball

We have two favorite clubs

The Go-Go White Sox

And whoever plays the Cubs!

That'll be the prevailing sentiment in Sox Country if the Cubs are in the playoffs. You'll go to certain bars in certain neighborhoods, and they'll have the game on -- but the locals will be rooting for the Mets or the Diamondbacks or the Phillies, or the American League representative if (God forbid) the Cubs are in the World Series.

For one thing, the Sox already got there first, so no matter when (if) the Cubs finally win a World Series, they'll be second in line. I know it'll probably be a bigger deal in the city and certainly nationwide than a Sox championship -- but we already have our framed ticket stubs and our 2005 memories. The Chicago White Sox were the team that ended a championship drought in this city that lasted almost nine decades. Sure, the Northside team has more fans and gets more pub, but it was our team that won it all. We got there first, and that can never change.

Beyond that, I have too many good friends (and even a family member or two) who are Cubs fans. If they get their moment, God bless 'em. They'll be going crazy in Wrigleyville and in every house that bleeds Cubbie blue.

But for me it'll be about as exciting as the Cardinals beating the Tigers last year. I'd jump off the Sears Tower before I'd jump on the Cubs' bandwagon.

Based on your frustration shown here tonight, I know without a doubt that you will be responding to future posts. You can't help it, you are too feeble minded to refrain. Besides, when I make my critical statements concerning the sox, the posts are backed up by actual facts and stats, which make them more credible-which makes them that much more frustrating to you.

If my posts here make you not want to root for the Cubs-great! I hope they have that effect on many sox fans. Then there will be less of a chance they will want to try to get tickets for either regular season games or the playoffs and World Series games. That leaves more tickets for the true Cub fans. When the big blue party train comes chuggin along, we don't need your kind on it. The only thing you have stated all night that was accurate, is that the Cubs are indeed, one of the best teams in Baseball.

Um, Frank-The Cardinals made their run in 2006, not last season.
In 2007, the Cubs won the division, the Brewers were second and St Louis had a losing record at 78-84.

*sigh* Reading is a skill.

See Roeper's name there? He is what is called the "Author," meaning that he wrote that article. You see those funny looking things under his name? Those are called "numbers" and in this sense, put together they make a date. A date of September 25th, 2007. So admittedly, the article is a tad dated, but most of it still rings true. Especially the parts about the Cubs being good, the Sox winning, and not jumping on the Cub bandwagon.

FarveFan,
Absolutely love it. I laughed hard as hell as your posts.

Elmhurst Steve,
You are quickly becoming the joke of the whole board. Notice how not one. No one. Not a single Cubs fan has jumped in to defend you but 3 Cubs fans have also called you out.

You are the BIGGEST hypocrite on this board. You bitch and moan about Sox fans and then come and make an absolute ass of yourself here. You have shown that you are an asshole with your demeaning of Frank sitting in the upper deck. I'm sure when you were Frank's age you were sitting in the exact same type of seats as him.

Quote:
Oh, and I have gotten many messages already from Cubs fans who are thoroughly enjoying this and none from anyone who is a Cubs fan that wishes this would stop-not that it would matter anyway.

If this is true, then I want one of them to respond to this post admitting that they are in agreement with you. I'm enjoying your posts here too, but it's because I'm laughing that someone can be as big of a meatball as you. So far, the score is 3-0 in terms of Cubs fans who think you are a dumbass.

You are quickly becoming a running joke on this forum, and you are too dumb to even realize it.

C'mon Frank, you are so mean. You actually expect Steve to comprehend all that? He is too busy attending 8,000 baseball games and thinking of new ways to discredit the team with the biggest divisional lead in it's league.

Wait, that doesn't fit, does it? Oh well, nevermind..

Not that I have to justify it, but age or cost has nothing to do with my tickets Friday. I got them for free on a 'Win a Jersey Wednesday' scratch off card back in April. Regardless, I sat in section 100 for the first 4 innings, and 162 after that.

You really dont need to justify. Steve is showing is hypocritical eliteness. I'll take free tickets for either side of town, regardless of section. But I'm a Sox fan so I'm a poor toothless hillbillty happy to get what I can.

I came home in the ninth, turned on the TV and comcast was on, watched the ninth, no big deal.

Then Hawk gets into one of his little high horse, 'we should have won' tirades and 'we wasted another great outing by Danks'

As he is saying that I am reviewing my roto stats for the evening and I like in the Sox Boxscore and I see Colorado, who is not a good team, had 21 men LOB? I don't care how many hits, somehow 21 got on base. Not sure how many came from Danks, but willing to say a good number of them.

I won't even start on the subject of DeLa Rosa and his 8+ ERA as I did not hear Hawk talk about it but I could only imagine. "I always thought this guy has some great stuff" lol

I think getting chased around Wrigleyville by Ronnie Woo Woo has left you mentally scarred, bigfan. You're hallucinating. Colorado had 9 men LOB, not 21.

This thread was created with Elmhurst Steve in mind. Hey Steve, I have one thing to say to you,

1908

You run your mouth like your team has had success like the Yankees.

TM covered it, more politely than I am, but thats idiotic. C'mon bigfan, you dont need to exagerate to that degree to prove your point. Danks did great yesterday.

I knew Steve wasnt the only meatball Cub fan. Isn't bigfan the prime example on the board of why Cubs fans actually care more about what the Sox are doing than vice versa?

You are correct. Danks was in trouble a LOT! He was able to make some very good pitches, to get out of situations where Colorado should have scored. Men on third with one out, situations. To his credit, he was able to do it though.
Of course, one of the reasons they were in such predicaments, was Tavaras, running wild, all over Pierzienski. They gave up on even trying to throw him out. He knows he can run at will on the Sox, so look for more of the same, if he's on base today.

Bigfan-you absolutely called it on Hawks assesment of DeLa Rosa. He was saying how he was a guy who pitched great in a start against the Sox, when he was with K.C. and that he has a 4.2 (something like that) ERA lifetime against the sox. Never occured to him that maybe thats an indication that the other teams that tattoo him, just have better hitters
Seriously though, he looked good. He was throwing his fastball consistantly at 94 and locating well. His breaking ball was sharp and he threw it for strikes. He may have been facing a mediocre hitting team, but he still pitched well.

Chus- I would not be running my mouth, if the Cubs were having the same success as the Yankees. The Yankees are 36-33. Nothing to get excited about. The Cubs on the other hand, are 44-25. The BEST record in baseball. Plus, I am certain, they will be making a deal for another starting pitcher, like A.J. Burnett or C.C. Sabathia, to bolster, this already formidable team. This is 2008-this season is the focus. But for those individuals who cheer for teams with little or no chance at going to the World Series, I understand your eagerness to live in the past. Meanwhile, I will bask in the glow of the big blue train, as it steams ahead towards 2008 glory, when: THE CUBS END THE WAIT IN 2008!!

The only thing funnier about Cubs fans showing THEIR inferiority complex, is Cubs fans doing it while looking like fools. Steve, bigfan is not correct and either are you in that quote you quoted him on. The Rockies had 9 LOB, not 21. Theres a pretty big fucking difference there.

Nice inning so far guys. Keep it up, get a lead, and take 2 of 3 from these bottom feeders.
