So MLB Extra Innings is free this week, so I decided to check it out just to see what I was missing. They ended up having the Indians tv feed for some reason even though the Sox were at home.
It was the most boring call of a game I've ever heard. I know Hawk has his faults but I was so bored that I ended up switching to mlb.tv(better detail anyways). I've also watched some of the Yankees and Mets games since coming here and Hawk and Steve Stone are still more interesting but not nearly as bad as the Indians guys were.
I think we'll miss Hawk whenever he retires.
Spot on, Rick. This is the third year in a row that I have purchased the Extra Innings package, so I have listened to every team out there. Hawk takes a back seat to no one, except Vin Scully. The Indians announcers are terrible. So are Boston's. A lot of these guys will use terms like "can of corn" and "duck snort", and they all whine about the umpires, Len and Bob included.
During one of the games that I have watched this season, the announcers were talking about the pitcher, who is a sinker baller. The color guy kept saying that his sinker wasn't working as well later in the game because he was getting tired. I'm not sure what he was talking about, because sinker ballers usually get better as the game goes on. They hang them early, when they throw too hard.
