One of the biggest failings of the city is that they have not leveraged US Cellular Field to have an "entertainment center" similar to the area in Wrigleyville. I can promise you that if you did that the economic impact would be much greater. I'd love to live within walking distance of a professional stadium.

bigfan loves to harp on Jerry but is leaving out a huge key point in this whole deal.

Jerry doesn't own the Cell-- the State does. Rickets wants the State to pay for Wrigley AND keep ownership. So....its 2 totally different situations here. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Sox lease is up. Wrigley, of course, will continue to be owned and not leased if Ricketts has his way.

Bottom line here is that the Cubs generate $600,000,000 per season in tax revenues for the City and State......the White Sox generate $600.00 per year in tips for the wait staff at the Cork and Kerrys...and half of that is WHEN WE SHOW UP!!!!! :lol:

Aren't corporate sponsporships going for around $400M ($20M for 20 years)? Just name the fucking place Boeing Field and be done with it already. Has a nice ring to it.
