It takes his speed away because he won't run with Dunn and Konerko at the plate. If Rios runs into an out in front of Quentin, AJ and Alexei it's not as big of a deal than if he did it in front of Dunn and Konerko.

Another drawback is they can't play hit and run because Dunn and Konerko swing and miss too often. Quentin, AJ and Alexei are all good contact hitters and with Rios' speed that creates opportunities to take extra bases and stay out of double plays.

Alexei stinks until the temperature hits the 80's. Don't even think of moving him up until mid July, if even then.

Lincecum sonned this lineup in the first inning.... but then Konerko missed a homerun by a few feet (despite midseason form on the "STRETCH!" cries from Hawk) and then Alex Rios tripled him in. Now Lincecum is back to sonning the top of the Sox order.

With Dunn's epic generation-long battle for the K crown with Mark Reynolds, I'd have him bat 4th just to bring down the # of 1-2-3 innings alone.

Stone and Hawk said today that Ozzie will switch around guys in the three spot depending on the pitcher. I'm assuming Dunn will bat three against righties? Problem is Dunn will face everyones toughest lefty in the 8th or 9th with Paulie on deck. I think Konerko fits better at 3. I like Rios's speed in the middle of the order. Not sure how Dunn hits lefties compared to righties.
