For all the shit he gets here he may not start out as 2nd. But by end of season Danks is #2. People simply forget major surgery then finding his way back. A full season this year will be fine.

Quintana most likely. Unless Danks has an awesome spring which will not happen.

Do you have anymore then two people who are overrating Danks yet? Also, even if he is overrated one person doesn't make an entire staff the same. So who else is overrated on the staff?

My projection:

3rd place, a few more wins then 75, fun team to watch but a few old faces continue to frustrate. Major difference between this year and last is that we are clearly moving forward. Hopefully the finish leaves us excited for next year. In contention in a year or two.

I have been extremely impressed by Hahn and I have always thought highly of him.

Quintana is the clear cut #2 starter, was there anyone even suggesting that Danks would be that guy?

I have no idea what the final record will be but I agree with your assessment of the pitching and catching. Still, I prefer to look on the bright side. This team could be like the 2000 Sox. They look very similar on paper. Catching? Jorge Fabregas!!!!!!!

No. Not unless he has some sort of unbelievable spring like I said.

Fabergas was a better hitter than either of these two.

With Adam Dunn and the half dozen undisciplined Latins they set a record for strikeouts and for being the most boring team in all of baseball. Home run or nothing on steroids.

Rivals Dunn for league lead in strikeouts. Can't field his position.

I actually think "Losing Pitcher" John Danks will have a decent year. I also think the Sox made a mistake moving Santiago and keeping Quintana. Of course, Quintana was the "safe" choice, but I'd rather have the guy with stuff that can blow people away. Every guy a Sox pitcher can strike out reduces the chances of Alexei Ramirez having to field a ball.

So you don't like the new 5 year deal Quintana signed?
