Yeah, I really wont miss that guy. I bet when he signs with the Tigers or the Twins that he gets a ball or two in the ribs next year. He also has to be the odds on favorite to get into a pissing contest with Ozzie via the press next year. Hopefully he is a part of 11 more wins, but the guy seems to be a pud.

He is actually hitting the crap out of the ball over the past few months.

You mean Paulie, right? Because the only thing OC hit today was the chalk in the batters box.

I was pleasantly surprised by Clayton Richard's relief work yesterday afternoon in Game 1. I didn't think Richard was worthy of a spot on the postseason roster, but here's something to chew on. If this series goes the distance, should Ozzie consider coming back with today's starter, the battle-tested Mark Buehrle, or does Clay give the Sox a shot to win Game 5 at Tropicana Field? This much I do know...I've seen enough of Javy Vazquez! :x

It's gonna be like when Magglio left for Detroit. Ozzie will be talking trash about OC next year for sure.

Nice to see BA and Swish back in there. Need Anderson in CF with Buerhle pitching.

I'm trying to figure out who swings at pitches furthest out of the strike zone- Uribe, Soriano or Vlad Guerrero

It is about time Ozzie switched it up.

BA and Swish were obvious moves. We're facing a lefty. BA always plays against lefties for Griffey.

Swish is a switch hitter. What the hell? He sucks but he's due. He could accidently hit one over the fence. He has that ability.

Good start to game 2... got two across and Kazmir is already in pitch count trouble. Hopefully Buehrle and the defense respond with the same readiness to play.

Well, we gave up an easy one on a throwing error which allowed the Rays to have a man on third with one out. He got in, but we got a DP to get out of that inning. Top of the third, the Sox looked pretty pathetic batting, and were up and down. To the bottom of the third, Sox up 2-1.

That's Uribe's second u-g-l-y at bat... real bad looking.

Stranded another two on base with an infield chopper by Dye to end the inning. I'm encouraged that we are getting hits however.

HR by Iwanura puts the Rays up 3-2. Should be about 5-3 Sox with all of our runners stranded, but it is what it is. Buehrle is only at about 60 pitches, and Kazmir is at 92, so at least we have that going for us.

Twins Interested In Orlando Cabrera
By Tim Dierkes [October 3 at 4:27pm CST]
According to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Twins are interested in free agent shortstop Orlando Cabrera. Christensen guesses Cabrera could receive a three-year, $30MM contract this winter.

Cabrera, 34 in November, hit .281/.334/.371 in 730 plate appearances. He has a reputation as a strong defensive shortstop, though the plus/minus system says he made just one more play than the average shortstop this year. He's much better on balls hit to his left than his right.

Anderson sac bunts Uribe over to second. Top of the line-up with one out, and Balfour will be coming in to go for round two versus Cabrera (as Harold Reynolds says.)

Sacrifice grounder, Uribe to third. Two outs and we have got the tying run scoring on any hit by Swish.

... and he flies out to left.

Has the left side of the infield made a play yet?

Alright, two on and no out... we have to score some runs here.

... and after some bad umpiring, we have two outs with the same two on....

... and AJ grounds out to first. 11 men left on base and we are still down a run.

There was another walk denied by the umpire because he's calling everything a strike for the Rays pitching..... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I think that last pitch to Swish was a strike - but some of those other called strikes... jeesh. Ray Charles has better vision, and he's been dead for a few years!

Ozzie is planning on taking Dotel out after he gives up his first home run of the night. :)

... edit: just giving up a run period was good enough.

Well, looks like we are going to have to win three elimination games in a row AGAIN, but this time against the same team for all three.

This team has got to change next year.
11 fucking hits and they can't bring home more than 2 fucking runs?
End the Southside Softball Team!

Unfortunately the rays are not the teams that are not here (Twins, Tigers, etc.) the Rays are good. They were a joke, but they can strike quickly. Op0ps
