Hawk all excited about 2020 on his last day sounded ridiculous and sad.

These toss away seasons take their toll on the fans,no matter what team you root for.

Shields won't be on the team next year. That is the only change you'll see next year. Cleveland will runaway with the central and the rest of the teams will be under .500. 2019 will just be a repeat of 2018.

That makes my day. I understand that he is a great guy, the franchise (Sox not Parkins) values him and he's good with the younger guys. I get all that and can't see a reason to disagree.

It sure seems that his days of being a solid fourth or even fifth starter are way behind him. Maybe and that's a big maybe, he's a mid inning relief or spot starter in a pinch?

Stone and Bennetti gushed all over him before his last start lamenting his 200th inning pitched and spinning all the positives. I get that as well - it's their job to try and take the bad season's nuggets and shine them up. I don't hold that against them. I like Stoney and Jason.

However, please take the ball out of his hand and make him an assistant coach somewhere in your system if you value him that much.
