This team always looks like shit against the Twins. Should have and could have gotten at least 1 run there, instead the Sox find themselves trailing. I guess thats about the norm for them in Minneapolis.

I am far from an Ozzie hater, I think he is a good manager, but he is obviously managing scared up there in Minnesota. KW has to tell him to sit Pierre, who gives a shit if Ozzie's feelings will be hurt.

You're not going to see Brent Lillibridge until maybe late in the ballgame for defensive purposes, and he likely won't start again until Saturday night at Arizona when the Diamondbacks are scheduled to start lefty Zach Duke. Sorry to disappoint you...

Rios has hit into some tough luck for sure, but he has also failed to execute in key situations a good number of times this season.

That was a big hit by Morel because it cleared Pierre and they can start next inning with Alexei, Quentin and Pauly. Pierre is like the pitcher in an NL lineup only Ozzie hits him first.

I am not Lillibridge crazy, I know he is overperforming, but Juan Pierre is completely useless. I gave him plenty of shots, tried to rationalize using him but it makes no sense. He hurts the team. Great guy, works hard, just too old. This lineup needs another power hitter in the lineup.

I agree with you to a point. But they really shouldn't need another power hitter. Ozzie isn't going to bench Pierre, but at least he could bat him on the bottom. I don't think the actual order is so critical as the fact that you are giving your worst hitter the most plate appearances.

Joe, the White Sox tried that once before with Juan Pierre, batting him at the bottom of Ozzie's lineup. It didn't last long. Besides, if Pierre's not leading off, who leads off for the Sox? Alexei Ramirez? Gordon Beckham? Brent Morel? Brent Lillibridge? If I were Ozzie, my choice would be either Ramirez or Beckham...That's not about to happen either.

I think Rios is probably the best bet of a guy that is somewhat logical, but he's been so bad himself, I don't know. Personally, I'd lead Quentin off, since you still have enough power for a good middle of the order. But that kind of thinking is too outre for Ozzie, or indeed, for most managers.

At the rate this season is going, the White Sox won't be "ALL IN" much longer, and the time could be near where Ozzie may have to look at guys like Alexei & Gordon as potential lead-off hitters moving forward. He may not have much choice.

First it was Carl 'Cy Young' Pavano and now it's Nick 'Big Train' Blackburn. Amazing.

Maybe Ozzie is right to have them bunt and steal. At least that only results in one out at a time instead of the incessant GDP
