Yup. It was his first time managing baseball that matters. I am sure he learned from his mistakes. As soon as more accomplished mangers came off of MLB suspension they kicked Ricky to the curb.

JR likes to give out lifetime contracts to loyal soldiers but not everyone gets them

I wonder if Ricky was officially fired or his contract was not renewed. They extended him but never said for how long so maybe he just ran out of contract.

JR hasn't fired a manager in ages.

I believe the last manager the Sox truly fired was Jerry Manuel after the '03 season.

My Guy told me that the Sox reached out to larussa to try to get some information on AJ Hinch. Since larussa is involved with the Diamondbacks and AJ was there as well, they wanted to find out what they could. No MLB team can talk directly to AJ hinch until the day after the World Series ends.

I like Espada and Quatraro followed by Bochy and Hinch.

I don't know how important previous field managerial experience is compared to a bench coach who is performing most of the tasks of a manager.
