I've got some Guinness in the fridge. I think I'll treat myself. Tuesday only comes around once a week.

Score is 6-3, beardown

Good news: Rodney won't be able to go tomorrow, probably. That would be extra sweet if we can win this one. Cuz then todays effort from Rodney goes for nothing.

Raul Ibanez, who hit a slam last night for the M's, homered again tonight & drove home 2 more with a single as the Mariners & Twins head to the 7th in the "Emerald City". Top 12th coming up in a 6-6 tie with the Sox & Tigers...

Sox really need to win this game.

Middle of the order for the Tigers. Gonna be a bitch to get through this inning.

Damn. That 12th was easier than I thought it would be. Nice job Thornton.

Carlos Quentin leads off the bottom 12th for the Sox as the 6-6 tie with the Tigers continues.

With how few pitches he threw he should be able to go another inning if need be, too.

It's either Thornton, Irish, or Adam Russell left in the bullpen tonight. Regardless of the outcome, John Danks needs to pitch much better tomorrow night in Game 2 of this series.

Now Rodney certainly won't be available tomorrow. This is his 3rd inning. If they go 4 with him he might be done for the games 2 and 3.

You know how much Leyland wants this by keeping him out there.

Fernando Rodney has been nails tough out of the Tiger bullpen so far...This is his third inning of relief! A risky move by Jim Leyland, but so far Rodney has come up aces for them. Top 13th coming up, and will he come out for a 4th inning of relief?

The first baseball game I ever attended went 13 innings. It was Giants vs. Cubs at Wrigley. Todd Pratt had a chance to score on a wild pitch in the 12th inning, broke too late from 3rd and was thrown out at home. Rod Beck closed out the game.

Gary Sheffield fouled one with home run distance! Whew! Thankfully, Sheffield, Raburn & Sardinha all struck out to keep the marathon tied at 6. Bottom 13th is NEXT...

Gotta win it right here. We're getting to the garbage in our pen. I doubt Thornton will go out for the 14th.

What a fuckin job by Thornton. 2 and 2 thirds. Shut out ball. Blew the fastball by everybody.

He might pitch the 14th. I think Granderson is leading off. That might be his only batter.

Great pitching performances by Thornton and Rodney in this game.

That was a bad call, but Swisher has to shut his mouth.

You hit the nail on the head. I doubt we'll see Rodney or Thornton tomorrow and possibly Thursday night in the final 2 games of this series. Griffey just singled with 1 out in the bottom 13th with Alexei up again.

That pitch to Swisher was a ball, but at this point in the game it was way to close to take with 2 strikes.

Ramirez lined out & Uribe popped out to send this one to the 14th & Matt Thornton back on the mound.

Now do you see why I wanted Jenks to go 2 innings. Christ, you're stretching Thornton to 4 innings. Jenks could have done 2. He's rested.

It wasn't a 2nd guess on my part. I said it before it happened. It's gonna come down to fuckin' Russell probably.

It may very well come down to Russell, win or lose.

Jenks should have gone 2 especially cuz you had to go to your pen in the 5th. So you were short in extras.

This was a game that championship teams win. Sox had to win this game and they couldn't. Fuckers.
