What is the bullpen situation for the Sox

Starter goes 6 and it's a 2-1 game. Who pitches 7-8-9 in a perfect Sox world?

Petricka/Jones, Robertson. It would not surprise me in the least to see Nate Jones closing games before long.

Duke & Jennings are the lefties.

Matt Alberts isn't too bad, and Putnam showed some flashes last year too. The biggest issue with the bullpen is that Robin does not ever seem to go with his gut or the hot hand, he always plays the matchup/percentage game.

So who is your 8th inning guy, Petricka or Jones?

Depends how well Jones regains his old form. Or doesn't.

Albers was pretty spectacular last year but I'd put him in the overwhelming majority of relievers whose production will fluctuate from year to year

There are enough Cubs fans taking plenty of not so subtle jabs at the Sox in the Cubs section. Clearly they have not forgotten about the only baseball team to win something in this town over the past 110 years.

Since the Cubs won the World Series in both 1907 and 1908, your (math) post is factually incorrect  . Soon, the Cubs will have the more recent Championships as well. Get used to the Cubs being vastly superior. Not only are the Cubs built to win in 2016, but for years to come. By the time guys like Bryant are ready to become free agents, they will have a new TV deal in place that will allow them to spend similarly to the Dodgers should they choose to. With guys like Torres, Martinez, Contreras and Almora in the system, they also boast one of the best farm systems in Baseball, despite all the guys they have already promoted to the big leagues. The reign will last. 2016 is just the beginning.

The Cubs could spend like the Dodgers now, they always have been able.

No. They have money now they did not have a few years ago. They have additional streams of revenue from signage, new TV and radio deals (which will really be better in a few more years) but more importantly......additional investors. Ricketts sold minority ownership of the team to investors, to help pay for the renovations of Wrigley Field, as well as to use to improve the on-field product. In addition, the 9 playoff games the Cubs were involved in last fall, brought in an additional windfall that was unexpected in 2015. They could not have done all the things they are doing ( Hotel, Plaza, New ballpark-renovated if you prefer that term, as well as all the player moves) with the same revenue streams they had a few years ago and no additional monies from the new ownership partners they took on.

They will increase revenue and have but they have always been able to spend big n still turn a profit.. Just think about this..

Even when they sucked what were they drawing? 2 million? 2.5 million? The gate- concessions alone bring in 140 million.. That's not even counting TV- Radio revenue, merchandising.. This is one franchise that could never cry poor.
