If they had anyone at AAA who was outstanding and ready to assume a spot in the rotation, this move would be ideal. As it is, it's a bit of addition by subtraction. I can't imagine Erik Johnson will be worse, but it doesn't mean he will be good. The only thing worse would be if he is unable to get past the 3rd, 4th inning in starts and taxes the bullpen regularly. But this move was the right move. Whether Erik Johnson does better ...........time will tell. I think he will be better. To what degree, is the question. Good move. |
