Excuse me Mr Reinsdorf, we acquired Morneau and Shields within the last week. Should I give our quarterly reminder to Mr Williams that the year is actually 2016?

Yes, I suppose we better...

Since Hahn thinks its 2007, can he go after Grady Sizemore? Or make sini happy and get Vlad!

Can we at least go back to 2005?

Is this Hahn making the calls here? These two moves scream Kenny to me.

The White Sox have a long history of getting once great players when they are old and suck.

Tom Seaver
Steve Carlton
George Foster
Ken Griffey Jr.
Sandy Alomar
Roberto Alomar
Sandy Alomar again
Jose Canseco
Jimmy Rollins
Justin Morneau

Can you think of anymore? This is fun.

Before my time, but didnt they go hog wild in 1982...I think it was Sparky Lyle they grabbed? I wasn't even alive but I've heard my dad bitçh about it.

Tom Seaver wasnt too bad for the Sox. Jose Canseco was fine for that 3/4 of a season becuase he hit homers after Big Frank got hurt.

If Hahn wants to go after guys who were in thier prime 9 years ago, then the biggest get would be Ron Gardenhire

Mourneau to DL. Stayed healthy for about 20 minutes, hopefully he can go a little longer after this next DL stint.

George Bell had 2 decent seasons with the Sox. Sucked in his last year with the Sox. Then he retired. So no to him. Yes to Manny.

Frank is right about Tom Seaver. He had a 3.94 ERA in 1984. And a great 3.14 ERA in 1985 in 35 starts at the age of 40. Wow. I didn't realize that. Won 31 games in those 2 years (I know, wins don't matter). So I stand corrected.

By the way, just thinking out loud. Is that 3.14 ERA the greatest ever for a 40 + year old starting pitcher? If not I would think he's at least in the top 5.
