Sure, Rick Rentaria can talk to him. Then next season Ozzie can.

Yes.

Then hire Ozzie back to manage the team!

If Ventura doesn't "retire to his family" after this season something is seriously wrong.

No. His last "great" season was 2014, and even then he only posted a 147 wRC+ (10th in MLB) on the strength of a .356 BABIP (4th in the MLB). For context, V-Mart, Joey Bats, Rizzo and Buster Posey all posted similar wRC+ figures with BABIP's that were within one standard deviation of the mean. Last year he posted a wOBA of .328, which while it looks great compared to current Sox, is rather pedestrian for someone so "skilled" as Puig, and this year his wOBA is .309 (basically Todd Frazier without the HR's), on the strength of .307 BABIP.

He hasn't been decidedly unlucky, he's just not hitting the ball nearly as hard nearly as often as he did when he was "great", and to top it off the guy just doesn't walk, his ~5% walk rate is in the bottom 20% of the MLB of all players with at least 300 PA's.

He's the worst parts of Todd Frazier and Jose Abreu, and to top it all off he's a raging douche. The last thing this front office needs is an excuse to not properly tank and acquire prospects.

I vote 'yes' because I wish more misery and lunacy for that clubhouse for my personal amusement.

Maybe they can hire Milton Bradley as hitting coach too.

More looney toons on the payroll than Warner Brothers.

I am sure Puig and Sale would never have any conflict.

Since Alexei left, the Sox are below their typical allotment of Cubans.

Bad Cubans, too (and members of Bad Cubans). Alexei, Viciedo, Abreu...they haven't had a good run of late.

It's like a tree falling in the forest, and nobody there to hear it.
