The nightmare scenario for the White Sox has happened, I dont know where we go from here but I do know Jerry, Hahn and KW are not the people I want taking us there. Dark days ahead.

Your honesty about the hatred and anxiety has made me respect you as a psychotic sports fan (is there another kind?)

Yeah I have felt the same way.

I have developed quite a bit of respect for him.

I still hold out hope for a White Sox and Cubs World Series. As much as I love to stir the pot, I have nothing but respect for the White Sox and their fans and you should feel nothing but proud of what 2005 did for the city.

The worst nightmare should be the fact that the Royals, Royals, and Indians have represented the AL in the past three World Series.

The Cubs winning is annoying for us Sox fans, but the fact that AL Central teams are favorites for the World Series should be the biggest reason this team decides to do better.

I was rooting hard for the Indians. I am glad some Cubs fans got to see their team win. I thought they were going to have their hearts ripped out again. I am happy for some Cubs fans, but certainly there are some that can fuck off.

The Cubs winning is far worse than anything the Royals do. I'm worried about the future of the franchise in Chicago now. The endless amount of shitting on the White Sox by the media will now grow to epic proportions.

It's pretty sad how terrible Jerry has allowed things to get. He let Kenny squander 2005. Have nothing to show from draft after draft of football-style athletes like him: Josh Fields, Joe Borchard, Courtney Hawkins etc. Scandals in the international system. Shitty free agent signings of over-the-hill lefty DHs. Going "ALL IN" with the third largest payroll in your own division and gaping holes at 3rd, the bullpen and the rotation. Pimping out the stadium name for a shitty payout. Putting team on a conservative talk radio station with zero signal.

The old man is going out with a whimper, as fans wait for him to die so that things can change like his United Center partner Bill Wirtz. It might take too long though for it to matter for fans here in Chicago.

The White Sox response will be to sign Dexter Fowler to a nice FA contract....boy that'll show those Cubs.

I like Fowler and would be happy about this move...it's only one move out of 5 that are needed and they'll still suck.

If you want a good laugh, go lurk over at WSI....

It just made the Cubs winning the Series even more enjoyable for me. Having guys like America, Waiting for Ruffcorn and Frank suffer while watching the Cubs win it, after chirping so much when they were down 3-1 in the series.....priceless.

By the way girls, it only gets worse from here, as the Cubs will have Schwarber for the whole season in 2017 and probably add a couple other nice pieces (Jansen I hope) as well. The Cubs are in a great position to have a long period of sustained excellence.....superiority really. While the pale hose may well continue to wallow in ineptitude and become entirely irrelevant.

The only vestige of the Cubs WS win barely more than a month later are a few pandering corporate billboards off area interstates, lame infomercials for commemorative Sports Illustrated issues and losers like Elmhurst Steve still puffing his chest. Cubs won, the world saw it and shrugged, and everyone moved on. So much for being the greatest sports story ever, people care more about the Bears draft pick already.

Normally this wouldn't matter, but Cubs fans have sought validation by national attention (typical Chicago inferiority-complex...) for the last 30 years and their big moment barely made a ripple. Maybe if they didn't win in an election year...?

First off, the title was never a huge deal to me. My life is not really any different now that they have won a title, than had they lost to the Indians. I loved the 2003 season even though many look back on it as a disaster. To me, it was a great season that just had an unfortunate ending. Nobody gives a shit about the Bears. That's why they had 11,000 n0-shows this past Sunday. The Cubs are THE story in town, but being it's the off-season, everyone is taking a big deep breath before spring training starts up again. But make no mistake, the Cubs are built for a long run of success and the big blue train is a runaway that cannot be stopped anytime soon, even if you wish it could. Get used to it.
