White Sox fans should be happy if he has the same career as Mickey Morandini. |

Sox could have had Baez and a lot more if they'd been willing! |

Red Sox are paying his full salary for the rest of his deal. Nothing like paying the supposed #1 prospect in baseball to play against you for the next several years. |

You're fucking kidding me I know nothing about him. I was just thinking, they need more guys with low OBP who can occasionally hit a home run |

I like Baez a lot but if we just traded Chris Sale for Baez and scraps this is the worst trade in the history of the franchise. Maybe the history of sports. Fuck. |

KLaw released his top 100 and he had Moncada at 17. Zoinks. He had Kopach as the top RHP (not sure what number). |

KLaw is the only dude worth paying attention to. He's dialed in and he knows what he's looking at. |

Law seems like a really smart and well informed guy, but if he is so amazing why is he a reporter rather than in a front office? That said he spends half of his time talking about how smart he is, and how he read 20 books in the past week. So maybe it's because he's insufferable. I think Moncada's brief time in the majors means next to nothing. Will he be a star? Don't know, but Law went after him for struggling with inside pitches and breaking balls. Wasn't that the knock on Rizzo? So they had him crowd the plate. I think Law penalizes prospects based on his perception of the organization. White Sox can develop arms hence Kopech as a top 10 prospect. Can't develop position players, so Moncada slips. |

He did work in a front office but resigned and how do you know he hasn't been offered other front office positions but is happy doing his current job. All that matters is the industry listens to him because he talks to the right people and he can marry that with his own thoughts and observations. He's very unique in that regard. Moncada has serious flaws in his swing and sure he can correct them but a big part of doing that is discipline and makeup. Rizzo has off the charts discipline and makeup. Moncada not so much. |

I am not stating anything about Moncada because I do not know. My only point was that I thought it was the same critique of Rizzo, so it seems like something that can be coached and corrected with enough at bats. As for Law- if you are a supposed baseball savant wouldn't you want to be in it rather than yap about it? He seems like an intellectual narcissist, so it would seem like he would like to match wits with the best and try to beat them. |

Law dropped him like 10 spots because he had a better year in AA than he had in low A the year before. At age 21. He says outlandish things to get noticed. |

This guy should not only make it as an everyday player, but be an all-star. I think the Baez comp is pretty good. Great athlete with a quick bat. The ball explodes off his bat. Yes, he might make a bit less contact than ideal, but if the Sox develop him properly and teach him to shorten up with 2 strikes and put the ball in play, they can have an exceptional player in Moncada. If they would trade Quintana to the Yankees for Glyber Torres, they could have a great middle infield combination for a decade. |

All of which were identifiable by a competent professional while moncada was still a Red Sox prospect. But, amazing intangible transformations seem to occur in law's mind when a prospect arrives to or departs from the white sox consistently over the years Add moncada and tatis to the list |
