The Sox got rid of two outfielders who were twice as good as Adam Eaton ever will be and the next season they went on to win the World Series. They also lost an eventual Hall of Famer to injury early and didn't have a (real) closer until midseason. A hick from Missouri with a 88 mph fastball, a ~50 year old Cuban, Jon Garland and a deadline acqusition from the year before basically carried them to a title. Baseball is a funny game. |

Carlos Lee was a fun player. Not sure he was as good of an overall player though. |
