11 games for $39. What a fucking joke. Put together a competitive team and stop selling your tickets for less than $4 a game. Im pretty firmly against people just switching team allegiances mid-life but more and more I'm wondering why I don't just fucking pick a new team to root for.

Hey this makes me remember the one and only time I saw the Sox at new Comiskey. I forgot the year (98?) but admission was only $1. Against the Blue Jays and Clemens was pitching for Toronto that game. I remember sitting right up in front too. There was like nobody there. All the Sox fans were shitting on their own team and you can hear them. One line I remember is some fan telling Big Frank hurry the F up because the Bulls game was starting in 5 hours. LOL :)

I bought the Ballpark pass two years ago when it included May games. I think the price was $99 for 2 months?

It's a great deal if you can make it to the park.

I wouldn't do it for just April games. The weather is too unpredictable and generally shitty.

Make it $50 and include Opening Day. Kirko is right, this is a really good deal if you can get to 4 or 5 games.

You're going to be a happy guy when all these prospects start dealing at the major league level. Give it time. The team just found religion.

April games are brutal no matter how good the team is. We've had a nice winter so people have forgotten that we usually get some snow in April

I am with you on that. We used to go to opening day every year until one year we bought more hot chocolate than beer. I used to take my family to the first Cubs game on a Saturday in May for my wife's birthday. And she finally said, "let's wait until June." Even when it starts out decent at game time, that sun goes down pretty quick, and you get cold.

You can buy a ticket for $7. So why not see if the weather is nice and buy one of those instead of gambling that you will go more than 4 times anyway?

I'm trying to understand why a fan would be up in arms over his team selling tickets that are "too cheap".

You really are a bizarre person.

I don't know why you had trouble comprehending what I wrote. My complaint is that they are putting a shit product out there, thus forcing the tickets to be dirt cheap. And even though the tickets are dirt cheap, I'm not gonna go for the same reason I don't go to Schaumburg Boomers games.

They are trying to build a sustainable, contending team.

They have 3 of MLB's top 10...Gioltio, Kopech, Lopez not including Yoan Moncada who isn't on the list, I assuming they have him graduating. This is a clear attempt to build a sustainable model like the Red Sox/Cubs.

Will it work, who knows?

Yeah, we'll see I guess. They have the same group in charge of the rebuild that made a rebuild necessary in the first place so I'm not getting my hopes up obviously.

So you would have rather them throw $$ at the problem, to build a 85-86ish win team that would finish 2nd in the division?

I'd rather them fire Kenny and Hahn and bring in a GM from the outside. I would give that person the benefit of the doubt with either direction they wanted to go. Only someone who hasn't been paying attention would extend that same benefit to Kenny and Hahn

If they cleaned house and still sold tickets for $4 a game would you still be mad?

Not nearly as mad. I'm always against tanking a season before that season even begins, and that is obviously why ticket prices were dropped. It worked for the Cubs, but it's failed for many more teams.

Hey! Don't bring the Boomers into this. That's a bridge too far.

Even though I'm primarily a Cub fan, I actually had a 9-game plan in 2005. It was a very good deal, and I love baseball and don't hate the White Sox for 156 games a year. I think I paid $670 for two tickets for nine games (so $37/ticket) for mostly section 110-112. I sold off the Cubs, Yankees, and Red Sox tickets and got about $550 back, so I went to 6 games for $120. Took my dad a couple of times, took friends other times, had a fantastic time.

As long as I stay in the 100s, I really enjoy going to summer night games at US Cellular. The parking is a little expensive, but otherwise it's an enjoyable place to watch a game. I've got three Monday night games picked out where if I can get a single seat cheap enough on Stubhub and I'm not flying out of town the next morning for work, I'll go. By comparison, I will probably not get to any home Cubs games this year because I hate Wrigley when it's crowded.
