I'm 100% on board with the idea of tanking for Seth Beer. I'm hoping that Quintana pitches well tomorrow, but I also hope he doesn't get the run support. Let's keep this thread going all year as we embrace the tank for Seth Beer. |

They are a 75 win team, possibly more. They want to compete, tanking is not in the cards. |

I am not sure they need to be the top pick in 2018 to grab Beer. 1B/corner OF types rarely ever go first overall. Only three or four have ever done it and they were more athletic/better fielders than Beer. 2018 is shaping up to be a solid draft, so there will likely be a top arm and some middle infielder than can move Beer back a couple of slots. I'd probably take him, but I'm just saying Sox might not need to get the first pick. San Diego is essentially written in ink for that first pick right now. |
