That's a poor question. The All-Star break is typically not a good time to go after free ajents.

In the past 12 months they have traded away quasi top 100 prospect for James Shields. Only four veterans have been let go in trades: Zack Duke, Chris Sale, Adam Eaton and Peter Bourjos.

There is absolutely no reason to believe they are serious about rebuilding at this time. Especially with two impending free agents and a $15m closer still on the roster. If moves are made down the row we can talk again, but right now it is undeniably clear the "rebuild" was a false narrative created to make letting go of front office agitators palatable to the fans.

The sooner you accept this the better.

I think Hahn wants to rebuild. I think Kenny and Jerry are keeping him from going against that 100%, so you get this half-rebuild bullshit.


I agree that until more players are traded, this is not a rebuild. Makes no sense for Robertson, Melky, and Frazier to be on this roster right now.

I find your faith in a GM who couldn't win/build around a core of Sale/Quintana/Eaton/Rodon/Abreu very questionable.
